Can someone please refer me to some newbie guides for this game? I was watching this guy's videos of his first time playing and he had mentioned he had just read guides and stuff to get some knowledge on the game.Remmib

Game is definitely awesome and addicting, its not even usually my type of game. Yet I cant stop playing now, finding custom texture packs and all sorts of mods make it even better. :> And yes, this game is only in Alpha, but its amazing of the quality. Although, MP is buggy as crap.

Indeed this game is amazing, Im not even usually attracted to these type of games. Yet now I can't stop playing, this is one of my first homes, spent atleast 35hrs + building it all, and since then I've been adding and making it look even better!

There is all sorts of texture packs, so if you don't fancy the regular textures, just head to the Minecraft forums, there is way too many to choose from. It's even easy to edit yourself, I made my textures from a mix of different packs. If anyone likes, just PM, and Ill give u a link to it.

^^Ye, quakelive definitely helps. Just learning how to strafe jump and rocket jump gives you a better overall control of the mouse/keyboard. Dueling in QL helps you think of good strats, and keeping the times of the armors and health keep your mind sharp. It is fast paced, so it helps build up for quicker reaction times, etc. But there is no reloading weapons which is great, I prefer games like that. But when you go to a game that does have reload, you do have to change how you play, so to an QL can't teach that. Either way, pretty sure no matter what, 1 game wont get you to become good at all FPS games. QuakeLive is free, so doesnt hurt to at least try it out though, even just once in a while. Some of the other games in here are and prob will be good suggestions too. So just find a few FPS games you like, and stick to those, be patient and take the time to learn them, and for sure your skills will go up.

Ah, yeah, can't say its a game everybody will love. But have you tried going online? Thats where most of the fun/addictiveness is because of all the custom maps. It's pretty much endless of possibilities with maps.

Even offline this site>>http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/ has tons and tons of custom maps.

Ofc Ofc, sometimes even out of the endless amount of maps, I can see where it can get boring since its all one, closed environment. But I simply can't stay away from the game.

It has a Huge player base, and it gets super addicting.

TrackMania Nations Forever

^^Thats the direct link to it, its a free game, so hey, why not try if you havent, right? :)

It also can be a VERY competitive game, so it's part of the addicting reason. But also makes it very rewarding. I take breaks from time to time from it, but I always come back and love it just as much as if I never left.

Below is a link to show part of how crazy good some people can get(this is not me). This is for the nadeo white tracks, the first SP tracks you'll see once you load the game up. Also gives a few pointers, so definitely a good watch for begginners or people that have been playing a while.
