FFXV left bad impressions of course, is that really a surprise? i don't think so this game certainly will be a upgraded version of the infamous FFXIII ''saga'' veterans don't have to stick with the saying ''play first before saying anything'' we know this franchise very well to come up with that conclusion.

FF13 made some mistakes (too much of it was too linear, the cast was weak and the story was utterly nonsensical) but I think a lot of the hate springs from the fact that Squenix for some insane reason, made two direct sequels rather than moving on to a new cast, a new story and a new world. I don't think that it would attract more opprobrium than say, FF9 if Squenix had followed it up with FF14 and 15.

But people hated FFXIII immediately when it came out. Most people liked the sequel more than the first one. If anything it made the series better in most people's opinions.

*Shrugs* At least here in GGD, opinion was mixed. Few (maybe no one) thought it was the best FF ever, but the battle system had its admirers (including me).

While I liked FF13 despite its warts, I didn't want to see more of it and I skipped the sequels. A lot of people clearly felt the same way. FF13-2's Japanese sales were 66% lower than FF13's (we never got a number from the NPD IIRC).

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-12-21-final-fantasy-13-2-sales-well-down-on-ff13

The RPG sequel sold 525,271 to take the top spot, but that's nearly a third of the 1.5 million copies Final Fantasy 13 moved in its first four days back in 2009.

Well I can definitely see FF fans hating the sequels thing. It's never been done before and is therefore non-FF which is why most people didn't like FF 13 to begin with. If people didn't like 13 they probably wouldn't buy 13-2. My point was that, from what I heard, while many people didn't want a sequel (from both a critical and consumer point of view) the second game was considered better than the first one. Even if the only reason was that it had towns....sigh.

I might be bias but I loved the first game and am looking forward to yet another change in the battle system for the final game in the trilogy.

No honey FFXIII is not hated because it have sequels it is hated because it failed to be a game, many gamers don't wanted a sequel of FFXIII exactly because of that what's the point of giving a sequel for a empty game? i don't know about you but i want to play a JRPG when i see a game labeled as ''Final Fantasy'' i expect it to be exactly like one with the genre core elements of its predecessors, that is the least SE could do it's sad to see that they even forgot what a JRPG is like.

Why we hate Capcom honey?if you were a veteran gamer you would know why capcom started to root 11 years ago when they accepted that exclusivity contract with Nintendo after that everything went downhill, they started to focus more in DLC,their games suffered a significant decline and became twisted compared to its previous releases not to mention that they ignored franchises of renown like MML and Dino Crisis,Capcom or Crapcom betrayed every gamer that trusted them in the past and deserve to be hated what was once a great company is now only a shadow of its former self.

Honey you don't know this franchise FFXIII was hated because it failed to be a game it is empty there's no gameplay that was the main reason the game deserves to be hated it is mediocre and only served to bring shame for this franchise

@ristactionjakso: Honey these people don't even know what they are talking about they need knowledge immediately unless they do that they will never evolve as gamers and will continue to lead their ignorant gaming lifes, also someone have to explain them what the word linear really means these novice gamers are still failing to understand it,in the moment you have more choices in a game in both story and gameplay the game becomes non linear FFXIII gave a new meaning to the word it don't offer you pratically NOTHING the game is extremely linear and that's why it is abominable and hated NNK is exactly the opposite but i constantly see these novice gamers giving cheap excuses to dislike it,makes me wonder if they REALLY want to play a JRPG i can't imagine a gamer adept to JRPG liking a ridiculous game like FFXIII.

Yes honey it is your opinion and sorry to say it means nothing youre pretty clueless FFXIII is exactly the opposite of what you think if you can't understand this certainly youre a novice gamer that don't have any knowledge about JRPG and the standards of this franchise,FFXIII is everything that a JRPG should never be and that's why it is hated it deserves all the hate it is an abomination that brings shame for this franchise.

I mean I guess you could use the same attacks and take the linear path, but there is always the option to take other routes, side quests and whatnot. You could even turn off the star if you so wanted. The monster-capturing system and ability to take care of the monsters is cool too. I think more so they give options for all types of gamers. You could take a quick easy route or tweak it a little and play it differently to get a more enriching experience.

I can't speak for FFXIII because I never gave it a chance because of all the negative attention. I still was always curious about it, though.

Yes honey those people give opinions based in futile details to diminish NNK in comparison with FFXIII, trying to make NNK look inferior in the process but the reality based in JRPG elements says otherwise and theres no argument against that i wished these ''gamers'' had some experience about JRPG to use facts and opinions accordingly,if you really want to play a JRPG forget FFXIII honey believe me theres nothing in the game all you can do is run and fight the game is extremely linear.

Pffrbt Honey what exactly is your purpose here? you let your opinions get the best of you or you want to troll with the others?maybe both? you make your position sound more obvious with every comment your species [trolls] are the only ones that disliked NNK so please cut all that crap no one gives a damn about what you think sorry for the harsh words honey but youre only another ''gamer'' of this new gen, youre insignificant.
