The petition is simply a way of doing so. We have every right to criticize the content of the games that we play. You listed a few examples of pieces of revered art and literature, asking what the world would be like if the author's and artists changed their pieces due to criticism. I ask you this; What if those examples you listed had major, objective flaws? That's what the fans want to see fixed. As a writer, you should know the basic layout for a story or essay. The introduction establishes a foundation/thesis and foreshadows what's coming next (Mass effect 1 and parts of 2) The body forms the bulk of the content, drawing the audience in and involving them in the world you've created (1, 2, and most of 3) The conclusion, and this is important, recaps.
