i got 12 months live subscription from ebay, was emailed to me within a couple of hours and worked fine.

i think they are region specific though, so you would have to make sure you get a key for your region.

i've only played prophecies and factions, prophecies is much better imo

as cspiffo says, if you only have a vga input, you cannot use hdmi. hdmi carrys only digital signal, dvi can carry both analogue and digital and vga is analogue, but the dvi cable does not 'convert' the digital signal to an analogue one.

you should be able to convert a component output from the ps3 to vga with a cheap adaptor though, (provided the monitor accepts the res)
