Ok it's a tech question but i couldn't find a right place to post this. Anyway here it goes : I recently setup a new lan-network with a buddy of mine ( never had any problems setting one up before). However this one went buggus. I created a network, but windows keeps saying it can't connect to it. When a play a direct IP game however everything works fine.

- named both computers differently

- named the network the same on both computers

- Cable is working fine, because direct IP works fine

- Rebooted computers a billion times

- restored connection on bothe computers a billion times

Can anyone guess what the prob is ?

From the first few reactions it's already pretty clear that the hardware quality of the PS3 is superior to the 360's. ESPECIALLY during it;s launch period (first 6 months). Man if you you compare the 360... it got a LOT of complaints.

Hmmmm.... Microsoft launching hardware to soon in order to beat PS3 to the punch. I.o.w. did microsoft deliberatly launch the 360 KNOWING it would have significant roblems just to beat the PS3 by a year, only to do the "proper" hardware release (ELite) AFTER the PS3 launch ?...

I'm a proud 360 owner and as you might know there are some significant technical problems with it ( particularly overheating an DVD scratching). SO the question is : the PS3 has been out for a couple of months now. Who has had signifactant technical failure ? I noticed there wasn't a 255 page "my PS3 is broken" thread on the PS3 forum.

By the way, i also own a Xbox, PS2 and a GC and will be bying a PS3 next year, when the price drops, so i'm not a fanboy, i'm a gamer.

Before I continue first this :

1. It is obvious that the xbox 360 has heating problems ; not áll of them, but certainly enough to be noticed as a problem

2. It being necesarry for a xbox 360 ánd its powerunit to sit completly free in open space, with a lot of room and ventilation is not reasonable. It is also unreasonable that even the slightest movement (unintentionaly) of a running xobx could damage it or the game. In other words : a console should be designed to bee used at home in an average manner, not only work in near laboratory conditions.

Tat said, i've noticed from the reactions on this post that a lot of people who do not have trouble with their xbox, truly keep everything extremely ventilated and.. "spacey" or "roomy" ( pardon my Englidh, it's not my native tongue so to speak)

Let the flaming comence......

[QUOTE="GregSal1"]Mine works fine with only one hiccup. Every 3rd time or so I boot up I get one red light in the bottom right quadrent with the error code E-68 which is a hardware error pertaining to the hard drive. I turn it off and wait, turn it back on and it's fine. I got my xbox 360 back in August and this has been going on since the middle of November.longhair72

And thisfor you means it is working FINE?  It has had this problem after less then 6 months that you owned it .This thread is dumb and so is fanboysm... Won;t bee long before some of you geniuses will have a thread up crying cause their Xbpox broke.

I love my Xbox 360 but i refuse to be dumb as of saying that a problem does not exist when it is evident it does GROW UP

the fact that u do not have a problem does not mean it does not exist

I didn't say the 360 has no problems, i'm just saying not ALL 360's have the overheating defect. I'm just curious as to how many people also have never had any heating problems with the 360

Ok, so we read a lot of complaints about how everybody's box is burning up or just quitting on them.

Here's a an idea of mine. Let's start a thread about how flawless your Xbox has been running. How long it's been on playing a game the longest, how long it's been on total and what flaws you've heard other people about but never experienced yourself !

Got mine about 2 weeks and had one on loan from a friend for about 3 months. Played Gears of War 13 hours straight, my friends machine's probably seen 500 hours of play in 6 months, never had heat problems, never had a freeze, never had a red lights in any combination turn on, 360 never scratched a game of mine (read that a lot too).

Just added a 360 to my console collection. Played egars of war 13 hours straight. 8) What's your record ?

Also, I read that the 360 eventually heats up to much if you use it to long. Never noticed a thing. Keep it free and open horizontally. Is there anybody else out there that plays for like a whole day without anyproblems ?
