Hello - my first post here. Have been a (fairly) active member of gamefaqs for a while, but recently thought I'd see what gamespot is all about. So far I'm very impressed and am eager to start participating on the forums (especially this one) so here goes with my answers to your questions.

1. I don't bother with the plug and play type games, but pretty much everything else is fair game. I bought one of those cheap Wii knock-offs - it wasn't the Chintendo Vii, but it was pretty similar. I only bought it because it was cheap and as a curio. I would buy one of the Brazilian mega-drives with x-amount of built-in games (there's a great one that includes a Guitar Hero clone) but they're too expensive and difficult to import to Europe. The Zeebo has also piqued my curiousity, but again I don't think it's viable for a European. I went to the effort of importing a Xavix though, because it really intrigued me. So far I only have the tennis and fishing games, but I want the golf, bowling and Jackie Chan games. But it's difficult to find them at a good price (shipping fees on eBay for example are usually astronomical).

2. I am interested in all consoles and games, so I'll consider anything.

3. Hmm, not really. But if it's a machine that plays games, then it's a gaming experience of a kind, so maybe I should. I've got some old plug-into-your-TV game machines from the '70s, but I wouldn't go out of my way to actively collect any more.

4. I do like to have boxes and manuals if possible, but if a console comes without them, it's fine. I'll even buy just the console (no leads or controllers etc.) if the price is right, unless it's a console that's brand new to me. I have umpteen cables and controllers for most of the systems I own. I also have a few spare boxes in case I buy a console without a box.

5a. Apart from the Wii rip-off and Xavix I own the following: Panasonic 3DO (the FZ-1 - big as a coffee table, but still very sexy), ZXSpectrum, Amiga A600 (it's a bit borked though), Amiga CD32 (only have a couple of games for that), Atari 2600 (M.I.A at the moment, along with all the games - maybe it's under my bed?), Atari Jaguar (only a few games for this one), NGPC, Dreamcast (I've got about 5 of those, including a blue Hello Kitty Japanese one - tres cute), Saturn (again, I've got 4 or 5 of these - I lose count LOL), SMS, Mega-Drive, Mega-CD, JVC X-Eye (a Genesis and Sega-CD in one unit), Gamegear, DS (fat one), GBA, GBC, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube (2 of these - one PAL, one NTSC), Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1 (about 5 of these, mostly the older PSX models, including a Japanese one and also a Japanese Net Yaroze) and finally PS2 (3 of these - one's retail, one's a TEST console and one's a Debug station).

5b. There are a few consoles that I'll get around to buying eventually - CD-I, Lynx, and the Sega 32-X. But there's no rush - I'll never play all the games I own if I live for another hundred years, so I'm content with what I've got for now. There are lots of consoles I don't own, but not all of them were released in the UK and it would be too much expense and bother to track most of them down especially if there weren't that many good games released for them.
