I don't know if it would beat it or not, but making these conclusions when you haven't actually benched one of the processors shows poor PC journalism. If you can't find one handy then buy one, for $280 off newegg, run your benches and return it when you're finished Sarju. Aside from that its good to see AMD continuing to try to regain their crown. Even if they haven't achieved it yet, the competition is good for everyone. It'll give a good upgrade path to current AM2+ mobo owners, it offers an alternative to Intel CPU's at this performance and price point and it will most likely drive down prices.

Man, the 8800 GTX is still holding its own. That card sure has a long life to it.
