Ok so iv got road runner and im paying for 5MB download speed and like 512 Upload. But basicly im getting no where close to 5MB the fastest iv ever downloaded with a single source is 601Kb/sec iv not tryied downloading with multiple sources so i dont know how fast it can go. but basicly why cant i achieve 5MB down? its like this. im paying for it why dont i get it?hofuldig
You're paying for a 5 megabit connection, not a 5 megabyte connection. Like Bebi_vegeta said, 5 megabits per second is about 610 kilobytes per second, so you're getting what you paid for.

I use wget on the command line. It will automatically continue a file download if it gets interrupted part way through, or you can manually resume a partial download (if you stopped it to turn off your computer, for example). The only downside is that not having a GUI is intimidating for many people, though there might be an add-on for Firefox that integrates it.

Core 2/LGA 775 doesn't support two processors on one motherboard. You need to get LGA 771 (Their server socket) and Xeon CPUs if you want two or more CPUs on one motherboard.

Wait... component can't do 1080p? Is the PS3 gonna use HDMI or something?

yes

In fact, one of the things Sony likes to tout about the PS3 is its dual HDMI ports.

If you need to use an adapter to use SCART anyway, just run the composite connector to your TV directly. You aren't going to magically gain fidelity by converting composite to SCART or component or whatever.

Just to clarify, the worst analog connection is RF (audio and video on the same connector), the next step up is composite (the video is on its own connctor), then S-video (the color and luminance information is sent seperately in the same cable), component (red, green and blue cables, each one carrying the information for one of the primary colors), and then DA15/VGA/HD15-PC (the blue, 15-pin connector used by PCs and some HDTVs). The general trend is that more separation yields a better picture.

Component can carry HD up to 1080i (1920x1080 interlaced, 60Hz), and VGA can carry up to 2048x1536 (progressive) at 85Hz.

Hopefully no more than $10. But if I recall correctly, Nintendo was willing to charge up to $20 or $25 for a single NES port on GBA not too long ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a rip-off.colbertnation

I'm a little worried about that too. Then again, we were paying for the ability to play the games on the go, only the high-profile games were ported to the GBA and DS, the games for the Rev won't be ports but just straight emulation (meaning no development costs), and we won't be buying physical cartridges.

[QUOTE="chaos386"]What's so amazing about a feeder drive? I've never been in my car and thought to myself, 'boy, I wish my computer's/consoles' disc drives were like this!' TE_Lawrence

Less parts for you to break and no way of putting the disc in wronly( unless you turn it around:lol: ).

Plus it has a much more cool look. The PS3 is trying to become something you have in the livingroom and are proud of showing to others.

Meh, maybe I'm just weird, then. I think trays look just as cool as feeders, since they have a transformers-esque quality going for them. :P

[QUOTE="-CMG-"]
I think I might be in the minority here but this is bad move - Those disc feeders are much more susceptible to breaking and normal wear and tear than a top loading system. I really wish they would go with a more traditional set up. There are allot of mechanical parts in those disc feed systems that can break. Disc trays like the Xboxes or even better the PS2's top loading system are much more reliable and add less to manufacturing costs. I like the PS2's Slim lines set up best. Nothing to break or wear out there.

hellscovern

They only break if you miss use them like anything else, i have used one in my car for 5 years now without problems, the problem with disc trays is they can cause scratches on discs as the disc rubs against the tray as it spins, you dont get that problem with slot loading as there is nothing for the disc to rub against, and it actually costs less to make a slot loading system than a tray. also the problem with top loading systems such as the PS1 and slim PS2 is that the lens is exposed and can be damaged more easily a problem you dont get with slot or tray loading.

Please tell me you're joking.
