Sadly, this is how I feel too. The first Metroid Prime game was very good. In my opinion it was the best 3D version of a 2D series ever. But, Metroid Prime 2 with it's Dark/Light just felt kinda gimmicky and not very fun. I'm looking forward to Metroid Prime 3 though... even if I'm kind of worried that this Hypermode is going to give me the same gimmicky feeling.

To answer the topic creator though, it's hard for me to judge if you should pick this up since I've been playing Metroid since the NES days. There is a story, though it's very 'behind the scenes.' If you're worried about not understanding the story then trust me, it most likely won't be a problem.

I do suggest though, downloading Super Metroid for the Wii VC. It's a classic and it truly defines what Metroid is all about.

"gimmicky"??? how did going back and forth through a dark/light rift torn by a massive catastrophic event feel gimmicky?? and u obviously havent seen any videos of samus in hypermode..it is freakin awesome! nothing about any of the metroids is "gimmicky"......mario can be "gimmicky" at times but not metroid.

Like if u snap the ball and the QB just throws without u doing anything just slow down how fast u snap the ball and it wont happen...also does anybodys screen get kinda misty looking every once in a while? just wondering...i have a good panasonic 1080i tvbtw so i know it is'nt that...

Zelda TP, Wii Play, Wii Sports, and i have Madden 08 pre-bought.

I will buy in the next few months Metroid, SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Fire Emblem, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and i am sure there will be more lol.

Well to be fair the guys at IGN, if you read a lot of their stuff, they come across as pretty big fan boys of the Wii, where as GameSpot seems a little less unbiased.TheLordMagnus

oh i guess all of those new wii controls dont count for anything? what about improved graphics? new weapons? none of this counts i guess! and i dont think nintendo will be crying too much about losing an ignorant customer!

On halo pc (trial version) i have run into this one guy who i swear is using an aimbot. He said that u cant even get an aimbot for the trial version and i was wondering if anyone knew if this was true? Oh btw i win most of my games with 25 kills and like 5 deaths so i am not a whiny noob!

that's because wii graphics ARE very jagged...

that's great, but that's more because of you tjan it is because of the grahics.  YOu are less criticall (which is a good thing).

Wii graphics are very jagged though (unless the screen is really unsharp :-P)

I was wondering if anyone out there already has or has seen what Wii games look like on that scale.

Also what type do you have/did you see it on?  Plasma? LCD? DLP Projection?

mine is hooked up to a 36in 1080i tv and it looks great...i bought the component cables so that made it look very good...zelda looks awesome!  Hope that helps...
