Faith is the biggest reason. A quote from the Book of Mormon: Alma 32:21 "And now as I said concerning faith- faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for hings which are not seen, which are true."
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints there are many instances that build my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, but it wasn't until I sincerely prayed for it that I got MY answer. The LDS religion stresses that no one can convince a man that religion is true and that they can only come to that conclusion themselves through prayer.
These scriptures are the reason I prayed:
James 1:5-6 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
Moroni 10:4 "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father,, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."
Sorry for the quotes, I just wanted to answer the question more fully.
