Hey all, i'm looking to upgrade to a real graphics card instead of the **** nvidia 6150 i have in here. Pretty much I want a solid graphics card that's great value and can run directx 10 at medium to high settings. I looked at nvidia cards and i think 8800gt is the way to go. How do I make sure my computer can have that card added to it? The computer is less than a year old and here are the specs:

HP Pavilion a6030n
nForce 430
AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core (2.5 GHz)
2 GB RAM
(not sure how many watts the power supply has, which i think might be important to look at)

So pretty much I'm looking for some site that can tell me straight away whether my computer can run this card or not. Anyway know a site or know if my computer can run it?

i'm also wondering how the 3rd party manufacturers work, is there one that usually has better build quality than others? Thanks!

Also, how do I determine PCI vs PCI 2.0

THanks!

I think people thought the HDMI pro consoles were, but it turned out they still have the 90nm ones. That's the last i heard about it.

I still want to wait until they release the systems with the 65nm units...yeah yeah i know that they're covered with a 3 year warranty, but i would rather not have to deal with that. I feel like this subject has been dropped recently and no one is wondering when it is coming out. Did i miss something?

MS is playing it right. They have the price cut now, hmdi soft release and soon the 65nm chipset will be shipped out and that will sell a lot for the people who are waiting for the upgrade. As soon as that comes out, i'm buying one.

thta

I have a wife and friends in real life so I don't need to become a hardcore mmo player... unless it was like a different kind of hardcore... maybe a pron mmo? that could be interesting...obsolete2k1

That's the thing too, i want to have a life so if it's free then i won't feel like if i don't play i'm wasting my money.
