*the next day* "Versus XIII finally has a release date!" LOL jk, even though he basically destroyed the company and wanted Final Fantasy to be more like COD, I still kinda feel sorry for him since he lost his job.
@8smokes GameSpot are trying to to get away from the 7-10 scale and go back to the 0-10 scale instead. I think this is a good thing. Whether the game deserves this score or not, I am not one to judge as I haven't got it yet.
Oh no, a 6.5!? That's lower than Uncharted and Xenoblade. Clearly this game is rubbish and not worth playing. Might as well hang Luigi now; he'll always be second-rate to Mario, so whats the point lol.
Seriously though, I know so many good games which have scored lower than this on GameSpot and that didn't stop me from buying them because my opinion differs from another reviewer. So don't get so worked up about it.
At least he tries to reflect on his own profession rather than just point the finger at things he doesn't like, unlike most of the blind politicians out there. Although I disagree with him slightly (no developer should have their creativity limited), I agree on his point that developers underestimate the intelligence of gamers. I don't need the game telling me to "shoot the red guy" several times a minute, or that I can roll by pressing X when I already rolled a few seconds ago. Maybe that's why children like these simple, violent games.
They should up the difficulty in violent games. Not because I feel it could be a valid solution, but because I feel they are way too easy to complete for children.
