It's all how you look at it 480 and below is standard 480 and over is HD
8 years ago before HD becmae mainstream it was basicly said anything over 480 is HD it started out this way now becuase retail needs to sell new models they tell you omg 1080P blah blah blah. When in fact you can not tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on anything 42in and below. even though 720p looks better then 640p 640p is still in some form HD anything over 480 is considered not standard def anymore.
i thought 8 years ago anything over 480p was considered high quality, not high definition. thats why they had EDTVS.
