Alright, earlier i was looking for a 4670 1gb ddr2, having been able to invest a bit more into my quest for a graphic card, now im looking ATI HD 5670 1 GB DDR3. (1) So how good is this card?
(2) i have read at a couple of places that a 1gb card would would do almost like a 512mb card, is it true? should i save a bit by going for 512mb?
(3) i have been checking game specs on a few website (i am not sure whether i can name them here, or it would be against forum rules) and found that most of the new as well as upcoming games (nfs: the run, cod mw3) will run on my upgraded system (from medium to high settings). is it true?
i currently have a core2duo 2.80 Ghz with 2 GB RAM, i will increase RAM in a couple of months, and kindly dont comment on upgrading my processor right now i cant spend that much.
(4) Intel DG41RQ will support DDR3 graphics card right?
(5) also, HD 5670 is a PCIe 2.1 interface card, will my motherboard support it?
(6) can you also tell me the power consumption of this? plus if you can provide me a link where i can see power consumption of most of the cards, please do.
(7) also i would like to know how to find out the current power consumption of my pc.
thats too many questions i know, would appreciate if you answer one by one. thanks a lot!
lol you sound like an employee @ bestbuy or me when im talking to folks with pentium 3's
some folks are ya know happy with the way it works atm and just want graphical horsepower that integrated cant offer. bandwidth loss =/= preformance loss. going from 2.1 to 1.1 isnt a huge leap in preformance and assuming hes got a core 2 cpu of some kind in their will not bottleneck a 5670.

wow thanks for your reply in particular, reply fromBlue-Skywas very weird, i almost felt like "my pc is much better than many others huh" as i have a core 2 duo with 2.80 & 2GB ram, and frankly speaking i have been pretty successful in playing games that released till 2009 even without a video card.
you think its compatible with my motherboard right? almost answer other questions in the title post, if you know about them.
thanks :)
is ATI HD 5670 1GB DDR3 compatible with Intel DG41RQ?
I have heard that the card is a PCIe 2.1, while my motherboard revision is 1.1..is it still compatible? plus any ideas how much power would this card need?
plus i have a few forums that 1GB would be waste of money because most of the cards consume 512MB max for gaming purposes, is it true?
umm thanks for all the responses people. i am not quite sure about second hand hardware, so i would rather go for a new one.
plus the cost of the card is also a concern, the reason i would go for one of these cards is that they fall in my affordable range.
i would mention here that I have successfully played COD MW2 WITHOUT any video card and i have also been able to play crysis, but it wasnt very smooth, on my current pc specs, so i think adding 1 Gb would make a lot of difference as it would allow me to play more games.
im not a hardcore gamer, but would like to play games like COD black ops, nfs shift, drit3 etc. which graphics card should i go for? nvidia 9500gt or ATI HD 4670? both 128-bit, 1 GB, DDR2, which one should i buy? which one would perform better?
My PC specs are core2duo 2.93 GHz, 2 GB RAM, lots of hard disk space. my PSU shows "Model P4 - 450W" so i guess it can support upto 450W, it thats helpful.
thanks
aah what sort of tweaking?I was able to play cod 2 on windows 7 it might take a little tweaking but it should work I do not know about cod 1 because I have not played it since I had vista
