Whoa whoa, it's not that people are "brainwashed", it's that $2 for a song that the creators had to pay someone to create really isn't a lot. I don't know if you noticed, but these songs are rerecorded and aren't performed by the original bands. Meaning someone has to be paid to play these songs. I mean, they have already fulfilled their commitment to your original purchase by giving you 40+ songs. That's it, game over. If you want more content above and beyond what was intially there with your purchase, you need to pay for it. How selfish are you to demand that this content be given to you for free.

The songs are already done.  The cover bands have already been paid.  We should only have to pay the developers for reworking this for the 360.  It's not fair to have to pay $60+ for music when we can get the full game for the PS2 with a new guitar.  It just doesn't make sense.

Geez, I'm glad this is all over the forums. I was going to pick up GHII this weekend. Heck, I won't buy it now because I found out the songs are covers, not the original materials. Add on the DLC prices and it's a definite no-go.FragginWagon

The fact that a cover band doesn't them doesn't detract from the game.  There are a few songs where it's an obvious cover band, but for the most part it's really good.
