It revolutionized the genre, and gaming in general. In it's time, it had the most amazing graphics and audio and gameplay, years ahead of its time. And, it has an incredible story on par with any today. If you compare it to more modern RPGs, it doesnt seem so great, but know that it basically changed the way games were looked at.awesome_italian
i liked the way you was thinkin until u said "compare it to more modern RPG's, it doesnt seem so great"!! i think if you compare Final Fantasy VII to modern games it does compare and most of the time beat.. sure the graphics suck compared to the new RPG's but when i talk about the 'BEST RPG' game i am talkin about the storyline first and the character's second! the story of Final Fantasy VII is great and i explained on page 1 about this so check that out!!
PEACE That's basically what I meant. I'm saying the stuff people seem to pay attention to first (graphics, gameplay, audio) aren't as good because technology has advanced so much since then. But it's the stuff hidden deeper in the games story and characters, the emotional stuff, that still makes it so compelling.

I like the beginning. In the mid they complicate the story, which is a good thing, but the simplicity of the beginning is nice. And well, the end is the most exciting part of the game, but it is, well, the end. :(

I liked FFX. It had a story almost as good as FFVII's, and with graphics that make me pee my pants. Oh, and it had Auron, my favorite FF character ever.
