1. PS3 had a high price due to CELL, not Blu-ray. PS3 could've cost around $399 at launch if they went with a generic 3-core CPU like Microsoft.2. When the PS2 came out, DVD was already 4 years in its lifecycle, the PS3 was like practically the first Blu-ray player.3. No console is worth $599. AHUGECATI agree about that but the only prob about the 360 is that damn RROD so almost ever console has a prob lol
