OK, all the fanboy stuff aside . . . I'm just trying to figure out which version I want to buy. I have an Xbox 360 Elite, a 80 GB PS3, and a Wii. I know the Wii's graphics don't compare and I'm not interested in motion controls for this game, so I'm trying to figure out Xbox or PS3. Are there any other differences besides a little in the graphics? Does one system have better downloadable add-ons? Just looking for a little guidance in this purchase. Thanks.

"They're saying $250 isn't cheap for what the Wii is offering. The Gamecube is selling for around $100 right now. Would you pay an extra $150 for a motion-sensor controller for it? " Well, uh, it is different than the Gamecube. It has a faster processor, more RAM (about double), WiFi, 512 MB internal memory. SD memory slots. (I've got a lot of old SD cards laying around.) Plus the motion sensor controller. Yeah, if the Gamecube is $100, those extra features are worth $150 more. I would have liked to see two controllers in the box, after all it is Wii not Wi.........but I'll live. It looks like it also supports Widescreen Aspect Ratio. I've been looking of screen shots here at Gamespot, and most seem to be in the 16:9 ratio as opposed to the standard 4:3 format Add, Composite video support - - for those with HD TVs,, this should give you 480P instead of 480i. There is a noticable difference. And potentially upto 720P otherwise known as ETV (Enhanced) if a developer figures out how to maximize the power (it is more powerful than the original XBox which had some games at 720P) And the Price of "$20 for a Big Mac", doesn't do the cost comparison justice. Especially since Big Macs can be bought here for $1.50. The $20 ratio doesn't match. Better would be like paying $5.00 for a big mac. Which, even that isn't eally correct, because if a Big Mac represents a GameCube for $1.50, then for $5.00, a better representation for the Wii would be a Double Quarter Pounder with extra Cheese, plus bacon, and a medium drink. . . . mmmmmm sounds good. I'd buy it for $5.00.

OK, I'm seeing rants and raves about the price, about HD TV and the like. I'm thrity something, I've been gaming since Atari 2800. I'm getting a wii. I've already preordered 4 or 5 games. It's about game play. Not only am I a gamer, I'm a parent and husband. I have a 6 year old boy, that I like to game with. Graphics are fine, but games like GTA and Call of Duty with him? get real. Mario, Zelda? Yeah, that 's more like it. I want a system that my family can enjoy too, including my wife (she'll probalby just read the new headlines and weather). Me, I'd love some of the VC retro games. Plus all my 25 Gamecube games will work with the GC controller. So If I am tired after work, I'll play one of those....if not and I want to have some fun with the boy, hello wii sports (especially in winter to get up and do some moving -- It snows a lot here in NY). Also for a quick lookup of something on the net, the web browsing can be something of value. Also, the Bowser is included, for now, in the US for free. After a while it will cost $, but get your wii now and there should be not cost. As for HD, It is coming with Component Cables so it should support at least 480 Progressive scan, which is better than 480 interlaced. I do have an HD TV, but will be getting a wii mostly for the reasons above, but alos in part by the comments below. Don't be fooled by Sony's HDMI cable, won't work easily with older HDTVs that use DVI. Plus some content may not play wihout the HDMI. The main reason companies made HDMI is for digital rights protection schemes. $250's not a bad price though $60 for another controller's a little high, unless it comes with some points for the VC. Same goes for the "clasic" controller. If nitendo was smart, they'd include enough VC points to get a free N64 Game with the controller. If you want a family friendly system get the wii. . for high end gaming I'll use my 2 Geforce 7600 Cards in SLI mode, with my AMD 3800 dual core 64 bit system, with 2 gigs ram and 2 300 GB harddrives. I already paid several grand, not interested in perpetuating sony's lust for digital rights management (HDMI), nor paying a ton of money for what my PC can already do . . . did I mention that my PC is HD???
