@n64dd:

I mean, i'm all for it and the eviction thing on a TEMPORARY basis. In other words due to covid. However, given that the real issue here is systemic racism, i dont think its really intended to be a temporary thing...

@Willy105:

Even if i were to acknowledge unfair treatment in the criminal justice system by race, it isnt to the extent that all black violent criminals deserve a retrial. I dont want to think about what any victims and families must be feeling right now upon reading that.

I read an article stating one of the spots' demands (seattle?) Was retrial all black convictions for violent crimes.

Is that really where we're at now? The assumption is all convictions were unlawful?

Also... black doctors for black patients. I feel like we're going back to segregation, wasn't that racist?

@thegreatchomp:

Lol not at all but the flip side of this argument is what exactly? The majority of police killings are not justified?

I see one of two things here, either people deny the racial disparity in crime rates, or excuse it due to issues such as poverty and economic status.

So.... the police are supposed to do what exactly?

"Whelp guys we've hit our black quota for the day, we cant persue any additional arrests unless you grab some random white people to even things out."

There has been no social distancing for the past week, every day and night, yet you'll still blatantly say this. Again... the virus does not care how good your excuse is. It has no political or racial affiliation. Well... actually i see a lot of articles stating black people are disproportionately affected by the virus so... yeah.

@thegreatchomp:

The hell are you talking about?

If you casually bring up the stats of black men being disproportionately killed by cops, why does the crime rate not matter? Shouldnt it?

Unless you are saying since George Floyd's death wrongful, every other death by cops is as well?

@thegreatchomp: no.... pretty sure i clearly said he was murdered.

See... i see what you're doing there. We were talking about statistics of black men being killed by cops, not specifying wrongful/justifiable deaths or convictions. But then you cleaverly segwayed it back onto Floyd, which i DID say was murder, but nice try there.

Its disproportionate by race because the crime rate is disproportionate by race.

@mattbbpl:

Because them killing George Floyd isnt indicative of systemic racism. As of right now, there's no reason to say they wouldn't have done this to a white suspect. Therefore, its just like any other murder like for example cops being killed. Actually i suppose i shouldnt bring up that combination specifically but rather just said George Floyd's murder was just like any other murder and left it at that.

@mattbbpl:

Yeah... but that only makes sense if i dont care when black men murder police. Otherwise i just have to look at it as murder period.
