@clifford_sexylips: you really went there...ugh... kinda like how TWD went with Clementine and Lee. Honestly, is there really memorable moments that doesn't include death?

@clifford_sexylips: Is Zombie Shooter really good? I haven't heard of that one.

So this has been one of the heated discussions around. I even found a rant in Reddit about the hate around it. I'm sure there are those who hate mobile esports in the esports community, but not a lot from what I'm seeing. With the rise of Mobile Games, Mobile Esports is right up there too. Sure not everyone is as excited with CR Leagues than TI, but CR has a solid and growing fanbase that you just can't ignore anymore.

Whether or not someone hates Mobile Esports, doesn't change the fact that it's growing.

It's just like how the world didn't take esports seriously, and yet here we are now. Esports is so big that the Olympics needs them, and not the other way around.

Tournaments like the World Cyber Games who features more than 1 mobile game (Clash Royale & Honor of Kings), and even had Clash Royale for their Invitational is probably just the start of how mobile esports will put a solid foot down in the esports world.

Let's just hope more mobile games are featured in multiple esports tournaments like WCG and WESG in the future.

@warmblur: I won't be surprised if this happens too. They even have that WCG AI Masters tournament that makes AI for this football game.

@vagrantsnow: true, I just learned after diving into this some more, that it actually defeated 3 more pro-gamers. They are also going to have an online competition, inviting more Dota 2 gamers all around the world to compete. Not sure about WCG AI Masters (since it looks like it's more on developing AIs on that end), but OpenAI seems to be evolving more and more by the day, and it could end up being a factor in esports.

I bet Team Liquid would win against OpenAI Five (I think).

Can you believe this? And here I was, dedicated to putting down those who think AI can defeat pro-gamers. I get 1v1, but a MOBA? DOTA 2? It's absurd.

Or at least, until this came to my dashboard.

Now I'm wondering if the World Cyber Games was on to something when they had that AI Masters thing and had a competition for those to develop an AI as some sort of game.

I didn't get the chance to see how this went or have any news apart from this one that is on their official website.

But even so, I still want to believe that the one who defeated OG is a hiccup of sorts and that something very human must've happened that an AI beats TI8 Champions OG in DOTA 2.

Maybe they underestimated it, who knows.

I'm very open to a lot of things, especially if it makes esports better.

But I'm not so sure about AI taking over the esports community or something akin to that.

Maybe I'm just paranoid that someone out there will start the robopocalypse.

I just returned in the esports community and gaming in general. But I still don't have all the time to actually play games yet.

2 weeks ago, I went ahead and downloaded DOTA 2 when I heard from my friend about World Cyber Games featuring the game. The tournaments already started, so I'm just following results for now coz I don't really know what else to do other than that. But because of her, I went and watched this old documentary about esports back in the day.

Seeing Grubby makes me wants to know if he's streaming anywhere, and if he is I'd like to know where.

Also, is there any other classic gamers like Grubby who streams? Or if anyone can recommend anyone great in Dota 2, that'll be great.

I have to go for arcades and internet cafs back in the day. There are still places that I enjoy, but the crowd back then was more exclusive, and it feels like you're amongst friends. I'm not saying that the crowd nowadays are toxic, but sadly most of them are. And that people care more about themselves than the game.

Does this make sense?

Seeing World Cyber Games coming back also gives me both nostalgia and some sort of conflict. I hope they don't destroy it, or what it used to mean. That and I actually hope they feature retro games in their tournament next year.

What else? In terms of games, I guess the accessibility of new games. I miss it when all I have to think about is buying the game. Now I have to think about buying the console as well, and those things don't come cheap. Luckily a lot of games create versions for Steam, but I miss playing console games.
