There is literally no con to PC gaming besides the price of entry. And considering things like Humble Bundle and Steam sales, the price of games more than makes up for that in the long run.
Price of entry really isn't a con IMO. A good mid-range PC will play games in 1080p at 60fps and doesn't cost that much more than a console.

That's because they aren't producing them. They just slap their brand logo and name on them. It's up to the individual companies making them to actually promote them.
