@terminus Actually I have played Guild Wars 2 and I will agree it does stand out from the crowd of WoW clones, regardless, there's still a mouse on the screen and an action bar, thus the combat still feels the same. Also, there's plenty of ways to put all those abilities somewhere other than the screen, where you have to physically go and click on them with the mouse. They did it on Fable 1, Kingdoms of Amalur and The Witcher 2? There you'd just hold down a button like shift or ctrl, scroll though your abilities and left or right click on the one you want to cast, and you'd have your primary attack and block on the mouse instead of being cool-down abilities- nothing too complicated, nor would it not work in pvp..
I'm just going to say it, the main reason i hate MMO's so damn much is because of the f***ing turn based-skill bar- mouse clicking combat systems! Not to mention the endless grinding and farming, its just mind numbing, how can so many people play MMO's? I mean sure, I would love to play an excellent open-world rpg with my friends but every single MMO has to be the same old boring crappy WoW-clone. Why are all MMO devs so stupid? Can't they see we hate this formula? This game did it, LOTRO did it, The Elder Scrolls online is going to do it and so is Guild Wars 2. They say they're making it different but in the end it just boils down to the same old formula Blizzard used on WoW 10 years ago!
NO! this means no massive- destruction of Gotham- sequel to Arkham city! I got so excited, and now I might have to wait a lot longer unless some massive DLC comes out. And I loved the art style of the Arkham games, I don't want it to become stylised, with a new Joker!
Why was this article even posted? Stupid statements like this deserve no attention. If next-gen consoles went digital only they would surely fail, there's a reason why the app store is digital, because the games there aren't worth having on a disk??
All I want is an MMO with no god-dam mouse on the screen, is that so f***ing hard? and it enrages me to see that the elder scrolls online (which could have worked, don't get me wrong) is being made in the image of WoW, I love TES but this is just wrong, and if this means the end of single player Elder Scrolls games, then don't even count me an Elder Scrolls fan. It really gets to me that MMO developers can't even make an original game, but even Bethesda/Zenimax? It just proves that even though the customers always right, they aren't even listened to.
I don't get what all the hypes about, this doesn't look like nothing we've ever seen before. Why can't they just get back to the Jak and Daxter series? I miss those games so much..
