This is laughable. Palmer is a grown man. He can use his money however he sees fit. Politics is all about how best to manipulate gullible people. The best manipulator wins. No, it's not about who's less evil than the other. They're all corrupt.
Personally, I would rather boycott these companies. They're hurting gamers by using their personal political preferences to dictate choice where there should be none.
@Mogan: There is precedent on this. Search Google for Gamespot review scandal. It's rare to see GameSpot giving bad reviews for games. They're in game developers/publisher/etc pocket.
@sladakrobot: This is highly unlikely. Scorpio will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One. They might market it as "enhanced" Xbox One games for a year or two, then they start letting developers create Scorpio only games to take full advantage of the Scorpio hardware.
My only complaints about this is the fact the only people talking about it is Microsoft, it is being hosted on Xbox.com, the graphs don't really say much about how it was measure (e.g. by how much), and the tests done seem really pointless (e.g. matchmaking (it's how developers do it), which games were tested, etc). It's hard to believe this is an "independent" study.
The PS4 Pro received such a lackluster response. I'm still amazed Sony needed to have a special announcement for it. The PS4 Pro may be more powerful than the Xbox S, but the included 4K Blu Ray drive in the S will give it a run for it's money. If Sony continue it's course without a replacement to fight off Scorpio when it comes out, Microsoft is going to come out ahead. This year is going to be very interesting, at least for Microsoft. Sony's mistakes are going to cost it.
@Xristophoros: I think the translation is incorrect. A better way of looking at this is by comparing DVDs vs Blu Rays prices. Blu Rays cost more than dvds.
@Arkhalipso: It doesn't matter if it's a third party. Sony is the console manufacturer. They set the rules. If this is something they would allow, then they are just as guilty or worse because it's all about the user experience.
What was the point of upgrading to a PS4 Pro just to charge for enhanced graphics?! That's crazy. Sony is overdosing. They grew big heads out of the success of the PS4. They better come back down to earth.
