I think my BD drive crapped out on me last night so I'm going to buy a new one.

I believe the first New Game+ is significantly harder than the original game by about 50% whereas the next games (New Game++, etc.) are only something like 15% harder than the previous game.

He probably got killed while wandering around after you saved him in 1-2. Make sure you clear out the area he patrols in each level after rescue next time.

Actually, never mind, I'll go look anyway. I know I cleared out the tunnel you save him in, because you pretty much have to to get to him. I guess I must have died after I saved him, so the enemies respawned and nailed him. Man, that's pissed me off pretty bad now.

If Ostrava is killed you MUST retrieve the items that fall from him on the NEXT load or they will be lost forever until the next playthrough. This has happened to me twice already...the next game I'm just going to kill Ostrava on sight to get that stupid key.

HDMI is a digital signal so you either get it or you don't. If your HDMI cable delivers a picture then that is the best that picture will look on any HDMI cable.

This is a quite a bit different from analog connection (like component) where cable quality could have an effect on picture quality.

So go to newegg.com or something and buy a 5 dollar HDMIcable and it will deliver picture quality just as good as the $100 cable from Best Buy.

You've said that you have set the internet up already so I assume you already have a PSN ID.

Make sure your games support multiplayer. Look on the back of your case to confirm that they do and if they do the game menu should have a multiplayer option.

EDIT: Also ensure that your PlayStation 3 is fully updated. You can do this within the system menus on the XMB.

I think Halo is so highly regarded because it is like WoW in many ways. It doesn't really innovate in and of itself but it definitely takes what is good from other core games of the genre, puts that stuff into the game awesomely and has a ton of polish. Halo is really just a summation of many of the great aspects of FPS IMO.

I don't think its due all of the praise it gets but it certainly is a fantastic series of games with great gameplay and an interesting storyline.

The revolutionary multiplayer experience, the fantastic ambience, the sense of choice the game instills in the player as there aren't enough materials in one play through to unlock all abilities or weapons. I'm not sure why you or anyone would move to judge a game critically if you've never even played it.

People here call Gamespot fools for giving this game GOTY but really the only fools here are all of the morons who tell the rest of us about a game they've never picked up.

PS if you're actually looking for the positive points of the game look at the GOTY video and you will find a significant amount of them.
