ok, Right now I have XP on my computer. I ran out of space so I bought another hard-drive witch should be here some time today or tomorrow. how would I go about dual booting with both XP and Vista? I am pretty sure that the Installation is straight forward...but am not positive. Is it just like formating and the bios screen pops up before booting asking which operating system to boot from? Any suggestions as to how i should go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.

I have hooked up my router and it indeed does work, I can have four computers on it (the linksys). I was just wondering before i buy a switch, if it would work by being connected to a router. Because I would like to have more than four connections. I doubt it will work connected directly to the modem because of the ISP disconnection issue.

I was thinking about daisy chaining it. modem>router>Switch. this would leave three ports open on the router and four on the switch...and because of having it hooked up to the router may eliminate the ISP problem (which i am not sure if this problem is completely true or not).

do you see what i am trying to get at now? i would like to know if the switch would be-able to sustain a decent Internet connection while connected to the router.

at the moment, I have the cable modem they provided me. I do have my own router, linksys WRT54G.

Also have not experienced any lag or dropouts in connection.

I was going to have some guys over, and there is only four Ethernet ports on my router and so was going to buy a switch. A buddy of mine with the same ISP said that his switch wouldn't work so he called them up and they said "they automatically detect the networking switch and disable Internet until it is unhooked." i would like to know...

  1. If it is possible for a switch to work through a router?
  2. Could I still use it without my Internet getting temporarily shut off?
  3. Is there any particular reason they shut down your Internet because you have hooked up a switch?

Would hate to buy a switch and find out it does not work because of my ISP. my ISP is CoxCable by the way, if that helps any.

a video card is a bit iffy, lots of stuff can go wrong with buying computer parts from ebay. I myself would not unless its a great deal. few months ago i purchased a G15 for $40 and it works great...so i guess it all depends. look at the sellers rating make sure there's no negative feedback about broken hardware.

[QUOTE="Ziggy56"]i would go to bestbuy and see which one you are most confortable with, was almost set on a g5 but tested it and got a dimondback instead. why not a dimondback? best mouse i ever had.FragMonkey09

Meh good idea, but what about sensitivity preferences? I tend to play my fps's with high sensitivty settings. I just read that the DeathAdder is for low-sensitivty people.

I also like a "smaller" mouse, and heard the DeathAdder was the largest of the Razer mice :( I never was a big fan of large mice so that is why the Logitechs never really appealed to me (at least they seem somewhat large).

suppose your right, the bestbuy i went to had the deathadder on a computer for display and so i got to test that in windows, and a few games. I can not really tell the difference in sensitivity from my mouse that one. (mine is 1600dpi deathadder is i believe 1800dp) dimondbacks plastic back makes my hand sweat horribly. I also thought the g5 was to large, and it did not fit in my left hand at all, i switch mouse hands every once and a while.

there's nothing wring with it, if you get a graphics card you should be able to play some games but certainly not on high. i have a 939 board and it works great. only problem is in a year or two when I want to upgrade I will have to get new ram, mobo, and processor together because of the compatibility.
