People do complain when they are shown games they don’t care about so I don’t think it’s a bad idea to focus on one game. Harder to be edgy in live chats if you’re showing up for something that you know isn’t to your liking.

True there is no law saying a reviewer has to experience every aspect of a game but I think everyone can agree that one should specify what they did experience. We do it amongst our friends naturally. If a movie was garbage we say so and when our friends ask how far we got in the movie we are upfront about it whether it be the first 5 minutes or the whole thing. If a reviewer wasn’t able to experience certain things in the game that others have they should say as much. It goes without saying that when you say “I saw that movie” or “I played this game” that you played/watched most if it or all of it unless you say otherwise.

Played a lot of borderlands 3 but I got tired of the characters. Would of kept playing if they released a new character or two.

Looking forward to this game if/when I get to play it. Loved SuperStardust and Resogun.

FF VII Remake trailer.

FF XIV job reveal

FFXVI new trailer

I appreciate most things final fantasy related but those are the main things I'm hoping for.

I basically stopped playing half way through and played over 30 hours already. I'm grateful the game is more streamlined but as far as bug mechanics go it didn't really do much for the weapons I use (Dual Blades and insect glaive). The bugs make getting around easier but during a fight movement isn't an issue with those two weapons. I like the new switch skills but since you can only equip 2 at a time it also doesn't change the way you would play much. I will put more time into it but I'm playing some backlog games to hopefully give Rise some time to add the endgame.

Playing Monster Hunter Rise, Genshin, and Atelier Ryza 2. If one of my friends picks this game up I'll go for it and play it but not expecting much from it and Rise is where the majority of my friends are atm.

I got half way through the game. Completed the whole first island then stopped, took a break and went back and did second island but that's where i left off. Nothing story wise piqued my interest enough to keep me going and combat (while good) didn't mix it up enough. Would i go see the movie sure but i wouldn't expect anything spectacular as most action movies bore me.

First of all, what is this nonsensical essay from Polygon quoted by TC? The subtitles says "How I learned to stop staring into the void and appreciate life’s small victories." In short, the author says he learned through the Souls parry to confront depression and seemingly meaningless difficulties in life. LOL.

It goes;

I haven’t beaten Dark Souls yet, but I’m further than I’ve ever gotten previously (I just reached the Gaping Dragon), and like so many people before me who have depression and have gotten way into Dark Souls, all I can think about now is what Dark Souls has taught me about failure and resilience. Which brings me back to parrying.

Well, if DS is so difficult for you, you should play BotW instead, which is a lot easier and has your favorite parry, too. And if you are suffering from depression, get a prescription from your counselor instead of playing a difficult game that is out of your hands.

Sure its overly dramatic but maybe it really did mean something to them. People deal with and can find solutions to their problems in an indefinite number of ways. We're all gamers here, surely we can find something meaningful to each of us in the videogame craft that also benefits us or helps us go about the struggles in life if we tried.
