Endwalker is gonna wrap up a long and pretty epic story so the game has tons of hype surrounding it. I’m pretty sure Asmongold will get through the whole thing I just hope this motivates blizzard to try to up the ante with their own game.
@Barighm: I mean eventually you’ll get to ar 60, eventually your spiral abyss team will be able to get all the rewards, eventually you’ll get your god roll artifacts and obliterate enemies effortlessly. At that point you’ll just be spending your resin to accumulate excess Items in which case you’re not going to complain about resin because you don’t even need it to progress.
As for me my concerns are will there be meaningful content when they bring in the updates. Will they fix all the bugs and glitches? The speed of progress doesn’t concern me as the game is right now. If they add pvp then it will be a problem and should promptly be thrown in the gutter.
This won't be a problem as the game goes on. Once people have their main and sub teams leveled and geared they'll stop moaning about it. It sucks now cause people hate seeing that their character is level 70/80 and they have to wait for that xp. They need to gate you so that you are playing everyday, every month so they can sell those monthly passes. What they can't do is up the recharge rate because they'd be screwing over the people that spent money on resin and it'd be pretty dumb to upset your actual PAYING customers.
@DAOWAce: Yeah if you WANT to reach that objective. Why do you want to reach that objective? To get more BP to get to lvl 50. Do you have to get those points to reach 50? No. The total amount of points you can get is well over 50000 points (probably around 60000+) within the time given meaning that you don't have to complete every objective to get to lvl 50.
Stressing out over not getting a green checkmark in a game is a problem with the player and not the game. I wanted to complete that quest too but after crunching the numbers I realized its not a big deal if you don't get those points. Over 5 weeks it comes out around over 3000 points. You can easily disregard it if you are hitting all the other quests.
@DAOWAce: Just stating its not impossible for a F2P player. I only rolled on beginner banner so I have over 10000gems right now. 0.6 rate on 5 star is absolutely stupid and disgusting. And if devs were smart they'd also do something about their resin problem.
So this is just an overview of the game with any critique set aside.
The multiple gacha elements, notably the Resin mechanic, are causing the community to rise up in arms against the developer. It's very predatory, as bad or worse than some other gacha games. And the rates for 5* are some of the worst in the industry.
It's also not even finished. The Protagonist is missing voice lines in every language except Chinese. English is missing voice lines for certain characters or in certain parts of the story. The profiles of people don't even list the VA's either. Add the Resin stuff? The weekly quests has one that wants you spend a certain amount of Resin, and that amount is ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET as a free player.
Controls are terrible and can't be rebound even though the tutorial tells you they can, the field of view and camera is making people sick to the point some can't play (myself included), there's so many technical issues with the PC and PS4 versions that make absolutely no sense, because the game's been in beta since at least March. The only hotfix that came out so far was to add 60FPS on mobile.
Genshin's core design is okay, but you can feel the mobile elements in it (like no lock-on button) and overall there's a big negative cloud over the entire game.
If for some reason you aren't affected by the controls, camera, field of view or other technical issues, then you will enjoy exploring the world and its story. But otherwise, until the devs pull their heads out of their bum and fix the game, it's a pretty poor experience for a decent amount of people.
No it isn't. Just use the free gems you get daily to spend 50 gems on 60 resin once a day. 1260+(60x7)= 1680 which is over the amount required. Also you dont even need those weekly points anyway to reach lvl 50 BP at the end of the battle pass time.
Aside from that yeah the PS4 version and PC version need quite a bit more polish. Analog to navigate menus is absurd.
Pretty good video. I think Western sites just assumed people weren't interested because it was a gacha game which I admit, once I found that out I wanted to dismiss it and dump it in the trash. But the game looks too good and is too fun to ignore.
@Tux1515: Barret does come off strong a lot but the softer lines I think are some of the best of the whole cast. I like specifically the lines about cloud's age and the mako pump.
Back in late 90s my siblings and I recorded ourselves on vhs doing the voices. Very excited to get this remake, pre-ordered digital and a physical copy.
