@emperiox I'm sorry, but this will make no impact on your rights, or the people who are attempting to impose stricter gun control. Let's be honest here, the only thing this will do is fuel about three months' worth of circular debates that go nowhere before people move onto something else to complain about. I only find this story disturbing because this is a pattern of self-defeating anti-logic that seems to refresh itself in the American consciousness every few months.

It's like parents arguing over why their son self-harmed for the first time: Was it because he read The Crow graphic novel? Or was it because someone left the kitchen knives too easily accessed? Couldn't possibly be because he's unhappy and hates us arguing all the time.

@SwimSwimHungry My understanding is that the only correlation they have that links the shooter to videogames is that his brother liked the Mass Effect facebook page.

A touching effort, but hopelessly pedantic. Scapegoating like this is almost always the act of a group that feels hurt, powerless and in need of a banner. Whilst I don't think this will turn all videogamers into pariahs, it is certainly sending the wrong message, and the fact that they're destroying the videogames is a creepy acknowledgement of an ignorance-fuelled stereotype, that reeks eerily of a new witch hunt.

We're all aware of the truth - society as we know it fuels antisocial behaviour, because we live in a selfish, apathetical system. This is everywhere, and it is an influence in people's lives from the very start. People snap when they feel like they have nothing to lose, and they seek refuge in fantasy when they feel like they have no stake in the world. A reaction this violent and extreme in the name of preventing extreme behaviour is laughably ironic and counter-productive.

@soccerpzn Fair play. Personally, I'm just about certain that it will come to PC. Just sour that it won't be for months, in all likelihood, and not as good as it could be.

@soccerpzn I don't believe I spammed anything. I was only using RDR as an example of Rockstar's recent business practices to illustrate my greater point that it was disappointing that GTAV most likely won't get dedicated PC support, as evidenced by this article.

@DragonRift I would generally agree, but then I remember RDR. The only reason I've not preordered already is because there's no PC version on launch. I suspect that they'll have the PC version of GTAV around winter 2013, like GTAIV, but it's quite disappointing to know that it's unlikely to be optimized. If Rockstar are putting the entire platform on the backburner, it's indicative of a decided lack of support. sadface

No-one can seem to make their minds up whether they'd rather wax nostalgic and have a sequel or invest attention into something new that they might not like. A trend I've noticed and consider more relevant is that, atmosphere bought through technology increasingly pervades every new game. I look back to the old Splinter Cell games, for instance, and I see that they were more clever and deep but less technology-heavy, and better for it in my opinion. The industry seems to be focusing on using whatever new tools are available to define exactly what the experience of the game is, resulting in games like Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, or the Syndicate remake, which while conveying a very real sense of atmosphere and place, are comparatively very shallow. Just an observation.
