It is a shame when you buy the rights to a film but change the target audience from fans to people who never liked it in the first place.
It will be interesting to see if everyone goes to see the next one or if there is a huge dip in sales now that everyone knows there is nothing here but hype.
@superklyph: doesn't matter what gender the lead is. but being a flawless can do no wrong character is boring. Atleast we got a journey with luke and vader. All we got here is WOMYN CAN DO EVERYTHING BETTER!! Just as bad as the new terminator. I prefer my movies to have a story and character arc, not some agenda being shoved down my throat. Worst of all I was hyped to have a black main character but he turned out to be token the cowardly stormtrooper. Kinda made me miss Jar Jar.
@neobushido: thousands went to see it having never seen a star wars because it was so hyped. The average response was, I don't get the hype. So this movie is going to do an opposite to fight club. every saw this when it came out. no one will care about it in years to come.
@Dragon_Nexus: I went in with no expectations and was still disappointed. So much so I had to go watch the phantom menace to wash that garbage out of my head
@TruthSerum808: Read a lot of those articles. The ones to set out why it isn't a ripoff explain why it is, the ones that set out to say she isn't a mary sue convinced me even more she is but at least the leaked script had some story, shame it had to be cut for more socjus agenda
except for when JJ says it is a complete ripoff in his own explanation..... hopefully the next one will have decent writers and director instead of giving us another socjus remake
