@X_CAPCOM_X: It was already in the code and had not been implemented yet because it was causing problems. PureDark has confirmed that people using his mod to enable it are sometimes reporting problems too, which explains why it wasn't implemented yet.

Thanks for demonstrating my point. That's called an "action item" where I work. Looks like they didn't figure that one out in time because...

*drum roll*

They didn't spend enough time on it!

The MTX though? Need those ready to milk those $$ from gamers. Make sure that's ready for release. Performance improvements? Nah. Those can wait. Low priority. Make sure gamers must pick our MTX over alternative methods as well.

@esqueejy: ??

How am I assuming something that has been demonstrated? A team of modders enabled DLSS3, for example.

@esqueejy:"The framerate issues are an entirely separate matter, irrelevant to the mtx issue, but you trying to conflate the two..."

No, this is just you ignoring the point: these issues provide context. While I agree that it's an "option" for those who want to circumvent in-game methods of achieving the same result (they were in DD1, sure), it combined with the removal of modding (character files are stored on a remote Capcom-operated server) *AND* the frame rate issues point to a bigger problem here. It means they spent time working on methods to extract more money from gamers rather than optimizing the game.

I like Capcom's games (you could have guessed that), but here, they're dissing us.

Hit box controllers are cheating devices. Capcom is right to limit their usage.

@azalis: Nintendo isn't looking to sell. Their margins are enormous compared to the rest of the industry. Don't know where you got that information right now. Microsoft is using other shady tactics to undermine Nintendos position.

@midna: One of their ex Board of Directors, investment company ValueAct, and the CEO Mason Morfit, is heavily buying Nintendo shares with the goal of pressuring them to expand to unsustainable growth levels. This will create an opportunity for Microsoft to swoop in with an offer to the BoD.

It doesn't matter if they want to sell or not.

@heqteur: no it's not questionable in most countries. It's questionably low in the usa with practically no efforts to contain the spread, and whistleblower scientists like Rebekah Jones being threatened with arrest and intimidation for refusing to flasify data (of course falsifying the data to downplay the amount of cases/deaths).

Idk, maybe you learned that today?

@dmblum1799: Here in the USA we don’t live under a dictatorship that holds us hostage at our own homes. We get to decide if we go out and not go out. Those of us who are afraid can stay in their houses but those of us who are not afraid we continue to live our lives. There’s worse things then covid out here in the real world people can die just walking out door.

You probably should have just left the comment. The actual contrast is 5,000 dead vs 500,000 dead. Quite revealing for the current period.
