Gefen makes the best HDMI switchers and converter boxes, it's a little pricey but it is the best.

[QUOTE="Emperor03"]

Is there some reason gamestore employees are telling their customers stuff like this?

Was at a video game store in the mall this weekend and watched a young father come in with his son wanting to buy a PS3.  I listened as I heard the store employee tell him that the PS3 was pretty much dead, and he checked his computer and saw "no new games coming out" for the PS3.  He then went on tell him about the Xbox 360 and how many games it had etc etc.

The father looked a little distraught but spoke with his son, a few minutes later they walked up to the counter and requested an Xbox360 and several games.

Does Sony understand how much the gamestore employees are screwing them?

In the grand scheme of things, I highly doubt Sony gives a damn, in all honesty I imagine stores like the one you mention above account for a small percentage of Sales of the PS3. And I highly doubt this is a normal thing. The EBGames I usualy go to is very willing to take my money and dont suggest I purchase anything other than what I ask for...I never have had a cross word with an Employee at my local gamestore... I have seen this happen one time, the group I saw simply chose to leave the store...

I've watched the same thing at a game store near me. I watched some young boys walk in before launch of the ps3 wanting to know information on the ps3. They were all excited and stuff asking things like "How much is it gonna cost" and "When is it gonna come out". The clerk guy was like it's $600, and the xbox is $300. And he was just so negitive about it. I wanted to punch him in the face. Another guy said "What I don't like about the PS3 is you can't move your data over from your old ps2 games, and the other clerk agreed with him" I told them BullSh*t, just buy the adapter for $15. Them sorry cock suckers.

I spent $650.00 on the PS3(60gig), $150.00 on 3 extra controllers. I bought Resistance: Fall of man and Full Auto 2: Battle Lines so that's like $130. I had to buy a Memory Card Adatoper for GT4 so that was $17.00, and I bought my TV about a month before launch. It's a Pioneer Plasma, very nice. it was $4,400. And an HDMI cable witch cost me $110 cause I got the good one. I've bought I few downloads off of the Playstation store but I'm not gonna add that. so.... 650 150 130 17 4,400 110 $5,457 You could take out the tv though cause It's not just for my game setup. but it makes the number look bigger so I figured I'd throw it in there. hehe. I'm waiting on Motorstorm

I went out and bought GT3 and GT4. I've prolly put in about 100 hours on GT3 and it's still not 100% complete. GT4 is way different than all the others. I've played Playstations before just never owned one.

I never owned a Playstation ever. But I bought a PS3 60gig. I want to buy a 360, maybe by the end of the year, so I can play all the games. but I've never really owned any console but the SNES.

it has a problem scaling anything to 720p unless it was already native 720p. it's like it missing something. But maybe they will be able to do it will the Cell processor for movie playback. But I don't think it will ever happen for games because of the lose of processing power need for the game.

Really just about all Blu-ray movies are native 1080p so if your TV supports 1080i the ps3 will display it in 1080i. It will not display it in 720p unless the movies is native 720p. If you set up the PS3 for 720p only and no 1080i it will display movies that are native 1080p in 480p, and that's the problem. I wish I could watch moves in 720p and not 1080i but just about all blu-ray moves are native 1080p. I think 720p really looks alot better than 1080i but that's my opinion.
