@unbentonslaught @toshineon I think one of the reasons is just "I don't like them because people say they're archaic."... But, it's a convention, it's not archaic. You can change shit if you want, but there's nothing wrong with keeping things traditional. No need to "reinvent the wheel" in this case. People like it.

So yeah, I think people think too much - they try to think outside of the framework. But, within the JRPG framework, they work just fine. It's one of those things... if you expect grinding and leveling, there's nothing wrong with it. If you don't want grinding and leveling, don't play a JRPG. But, within it's own framework there's nothing wrong with it. That's why I also don't like reviewers bitching about stale JRPG mechanics. I KNOW it's a JRPG, I KNOW it's going to have those "stale" mechanics. I want those mechanics. It's like saying... It's like saying a slasher flick still relies on "jumpy scares" and a cheesy masked killer. I know it does, it's a slasher flick. That's what I want from a slasher flick.

Such a good game. I'm at a Panera Bread studying, and I'm having fun just thinking about Ni No Kuni. It's the kind of game that makes you happy even when you're not playing it. Damn. Haven't felt this way since Final Fantasy IX, no joke.

I don't think you can blame RE4 entirely. RE4 was just another step in that direction i general. RE4 didn't start people's obsession with action, people's obsession with action called for RE4 to be the way it was, and it perpetuates I guess. Not a really good video. Kind of pointless.

What's the point of FFXHD again? It would be great if they included the FFX International version, with all of the dark aeons.
