Honestly I hope they just let it go...

I don't want MGS to get milked like so many other games and movies. The remake was already done on the GC, and if they do remake something, I hope it's the Metal Gear games from the Nintendo back in the day. I loved how MGS4 ended, it tightened alot of loose ends and was a great ending. The main story in my opinion just needs to be left alone.

i swear to god, the only reason this game isnt selling that well is because its discontinued at alot of the retail stores. all the gamestops and EBs i called today for the sale said that they discontinued the game, the only time they sell it is if its used....and that doesnt count towards the sales. at best buy and future shop, that game is almost impossible to find....that is if they still carry it.

That's harsh man. Very rarely do I actually pick up a game on day one because I'm a cheap sorta dude. :D But with some games you can tell that they're gonna be a pain to find after a month or two of being released. So this was a day one game for me.

I don't think it will...

It's a fantastic game, probably my favorite on the ps3, but Sega did a bad job promoting it in the US. It's really an old school game, not for the common player, and though it's very unique a lot of people prefer more fast paced games nowadays.

This is good and bad news all at the same time for me.

For good, I love MGS, for bad... I don't wanna see the series Milked like so many others. I just hope it's not a numbered MGS to be honest. I'm actually hoping for a remake of the original Metal Gear. Either way I'll buy and most likely enjoy it.

It's probably the best time to pick one up since the really good stuff has been hitting the PS3 this year.

Not sure about the scratching thing, I haven't had a problem with it since I keep my games all shelved and in mint condition.

And the controler is fine, no different from the ps2 one, more sensetive I guess. I personally enjoy the 360 controller for shooters though, just feels better. But really not much of a difference.

I actually saw a few brand new ones on Ebay for 40-50 bucks. I'm guessing since it's discontinued now the prices are gonna start rising soon, so that's probably the best you'll do.

Ah, wait, I got a few more.

RE0 on the train when the zombie popped out of the fridge. That was it on that game though, the whole buddy system really didn't make it to much of a scary game but that fridge part caught my off guard.

And then once more in RE remake in the main hall area, on the right side first door from the right. (Where the statue is that's holding the map,) I went down the doorway on the left side of that room and scared myself, ended up shooting my own shadow on the wall. Hehe. Good times. These all happened in my teens, sadly I don't get as creeped out when I play a game anymore. :( I live for finding one that does. Dead Space had a nice atmosphere but none of the moments when monsters pop out at me never really got me that good.

And during all these moments playing my little brothers use to watch me, when that zombie popped out of the fridge all three of them screamed right in my effing ear... good times.

The first time I played RE remake on the cube I didn't know the zombies got back up like 30 minutes later as crimson heads... god.... most memorable for me for sure. I was walking by the dead body of the zombie that was above the dining hall in the first part of the mansion and he suddenly got up and just raped my face.

I find many JRPGs to be very alike, and now it seems like people have gotten sick of them.

slip_killer

I gotta agree...

A lot of JRPG's have to much in common. The story usually revolves around some teenage kid who has nothing to do with anything (Most of the time from some small village that gets attacked/destroyed) and ends up going off to save the world from some guy who's hiding behind the curtains. It's very cliche' but I have a few exceptions. Nothing really on the PS2 made my day, but Legend Of Dragoon and FF7 back on the ps1 and Valkyria Chronicles brought back a bit of magic for me this gen.

Just in all honesty alot of JRPG's never really differ. One thing I've noticed in the Story Line is usually you have to go off and collect these four big things, Summon spirits, Fragments of some legendary sword, and so forth.

Though these games usually have deep characters and dialogue they just never really do anything different in terms of story...

Excellent. This may be the only new VC content that ever gets released (chances of a sequel seem to be slim to none) so there is no way in hell I can pass this up. I don't care too much about the hard mode but the two bonus missions sound interesting. If you haven't played Valkyria yet you should do so immediately, you may never get another chance. Silent-Hal

That could be a very good thing though, a sequel can ruin a game like this.

The DLC is good news. I didn't know the exact details but it seems worth my time. I bought this game the first day it came out, took a bus downtown and had to actually request it because gamestop didn't have it out on the shelves, and still doesn't. It was nice seeing sega publishing and developing a game again. Great game but didn't sell well, sad.
