Not sure of the exact timeline, but the founders left the company either right before or right after MS purchased them. Either way, the company Rare bought ended up not being the same company Nintendo enjoyed.The Stamper Brothers left Rare in January of 2007 which was 5 years after Microsoft purchased them 2002. Damn. There is a reason why Nintendo let Rare go, it's because the guys who made Rare, Rare left a long long time ago.Actually Nintendo wanted to purchase Rare but they had to match what other companies were offering; Nintendo had first chance to purchase Rare.
