[QUOTE="VideoGameGuy"][QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]Actually Nintendo wanted to purchase Rare but they had to match what other companies were offering; Nintendo had first chance to purchase Rare. Microsoft just offered too much money for Nintendo to afford.

Nintendo_Ownes7

Not sure of the exact timeline, but the founders left the company either right before or right after MS purchased them. Either way, the company Rare bought ended up not being the same company Nintendo enjoyed.

The Stamper Brothers left Rare in January of 2007 which was 5 years after Microsoft purchased them 2002.

Damn. You're right, i wonder why i thought otherwise all these years, must have gotten my stories mixed up or something.

[QUOTE="VideoGameGuy"][QUOTE="LittleMac19"]Rare is only a name, all the good guys from that company left long ago.Nintendo_Ownes7

THIS. There is a reason why Nintendo let Rare go, it's because the guys who made Rare, Rare left a long long time ago.

Sony themselves are abandoning it, so that should tell you something.

even if puzzle, simulation or MMO games aren't your thing, if you really think about it these games are gonna be the only ones that will ever hold your interest for any real amount of time
