I think it's officially dead. I have been attempting to charge it for some time now to no avail

I have a nearly new Dualshock 3 about 3 months old, and it seems like it just will not charge now. I plug it in and nothing, and the battery is dead. I have tried several different cords and several different usb ports, any ideas?
