@DM78 This was in beta for awhile. I'm surprised its so slow and buggy. Actually I got a beta invite a few days before the site went live -- the site seemed almost better then.
So far I'm not liking the new site for several reasons:
1. Homepage is confusing -- it has multiple organizational systems (columns, rows, etc).
2. New site is extremely slow. Logging in takes an especially long time.
3. New site has too much focus on showing popular stories and videos -- as a regular user I've probably already seen them. In the old Gamespot there was a feed on the homepage that showed every new item posted on the site in chronological order. I wish we still had that.
4. Site is still generally buggy. The newswire often gives stories out of order. Games have crazy ratings -- Mass Effect has a 4.0 review. Avatars still can't be properly changed.
@xeidog69 Yeah I also find the news feed really hard to navigate. I wish they hadn't replaced it with "What's Popular Now" -- most of that material is days or weeks old.
I always liked how you could easily see everything that was posted.
I've been rather unhappy with the new site so far. But now I've finally gotten my avatar to work for the first time in Gamespot history. That makes me a good bit happier.
@PeejayYeh @bbq_R0ADK1LL @polostation The lack of bufferingalso bad for me because my internet is temperamental and stops from time to time for a few secs. Hopefully they'll add it.
