All reviews (and ratings) are relative to the person reviewing / rating them. Everyone has different opinions, and all scores are subjective.

There are lots of scores and reviews I don't agree with, but I respect that every person has their own opinion, and each person may tell you differently.

I don't think gamespot (or any other game reviewing web site) ever has claimed that their reviews/ratings are unquestionable or authentic. Reviews are nothing but a professional way of conveying one's opinion over the reviewed material - nothing more.

It can be done with ANY computer monitor with a VGA connection. You will get basically the same quality, since the screen resolutions are going to be very similar. If anything, your CRT will have a higher resolution, since LCDs have smaller native resolutions.

You can use any gun to kill him, if you land enough hits. I actually think I pulled it off once with the handguns. I know if you kill some of the zombie coppers they drop guns (occasionally).

What chapter are you in? I have a strategy guide handy if I could check up for some guns if I know approximately how far in the game you are.

So I had the Xbox 360 Elite on for no more than 15 minutes, when disaster strikes.

I'm playing Lost Odyssey, and Kaim runs up to deliver a blow, and then I see a flash of graphic artifacts on the screen, and the console freezes.

I restart the console, it loads up the Xbox menu fine, but as it's loading a disc, BAM - graphic artifacts again, and it freezes.

At this point I knew the RROD was gonna strike any moment. So I turn it off again, and when I reboot it again, I get graphic artifacts when it displays the Xbox 360 logo, and then it freezes.

I turn it off, reboot again, and low and behold: the RED RING OF DEATH!

Thanks, Microsoft! You guys are the greatest. This Elite console isn't even half a year old, and it's already a large paper-weight.

The falcon chip is little of an incentive if it's the graphic card that is dying. I have proof the graphic card was the problem, since I saw graphic artifacts before it all happened. If you've never seen graphic artifacts or don't know what they are, look here:

So now, I have to send it in for repairs, and be without it for 3 weeks, while waiting for repairs.

I am 95% done with Lost Odyssey, but I like to beat all the games I review before reviewing them. This means, my Lost Odyssey review, and any other scheduled Xbox 360 reviews I was gonna write will be delayed. I guess I will have to review something on the PS3 or Wii in the mean time.

What a crock of poopy...

Maybe this will assuage your comfort in believing the falcon chip is somehow immune from the RROD. It's not just the CPU that's the problem - as in my case, the graphic card causes just as many severe problems.

What I did was stood OUTSIDE the gun shop, and stand off to the side of one of the doors, where you are out of range from his shots.

Then quickly poke your head around the door and take a shot or two at him, and move back behind cover. With this method, I was able to take him down without almost any damage. Any attempts at going up close and personal with him with most likely be futile.

I think one of the most important things is to teach your immortals the anti-paralysis skill, and equip the accesory for it to any of your mortals

I also had problems at this part. Actually, Lost Odyssey has a very unbalanced difficulty arrangement. Most of the enemies are fair enough, but the boss fights for the first disc are too difficult. Not because they are challenging, because you don't have enough skills and because your party is too small. Once you start learning new skills and get a bigger party, things will begin to get a bit easier. Though, I have to admit, the initial difficulty when you begin the game is a bit of a turn off.

I'm somewhere around the third disc now... I don't have problems with getting stuck anymore really... It's all early on - so if you manage to overcome the first disc, you'll be in good shape.

Blue Dragon was unoriginal and mediocre on most levels. I personally rated it somewhere around the line of a 7.

I also thought Mass Effect was a dissapointment, though.

I'm going through Lost Odyssey now, and I think it's quite a bit better than Blue Dragon. I wouldn't like to compare it to Mass Effect since the game play styles are completely different. But in terms of Blue Dragon versus Lost Odyssey - I'd say go with LO.

If the ETA for getting the console refurbished or replaced is approximately 3 weeks, I don't see how you are getting a "free" month of Live.

In reality, you're just being slightly overcompensated for what you already paid for and missed out on, as a result of Microsoft in the first place.

Maybe it's just me, but I think you should not only be compensated for your losses, but provided something as an extra for the inconvenience.

It could also be XBox Live...

Live has been unstable ever since the incident where they were completely off for a day.

Since then, I randomly get disconnected, and things haven't shown much of a sign of improving.

That's how it is on my end at least.

If you have a friend with a 360, I'd try bringing the game over to their house and giving it a try there. The symptom sounds hardware related, but because you said the disc had problems loading originally, it could also be software/disc related.

I would try it on another console, or try another game on your console.

A disc cleaning kit might also help.
