The only people that speak this way about the death penalty are people that have never had an encounter with some of society's worst citizens. If someone raped and killed your mother and sister, you'd be singing a different tune. Especially if they put the convict in jail, he escapes, and they never find him again. Try convincing a father to spare a man's life that murdered his wife and 2 kids. I do agree that the cost is unreasonable compared to a life sentence. The prisons are overcrowded with people that won't ever see the light of day again, so why keep them there and pay for their housing, food, tv, etc.? Bullets cost about 3 cents, and I'm sure the government can buy them for less. Great way to save money and get rid of people that don't need to be living amongst the rest of us. Not only do we need to still use it, we need to make it more cost effective and more widely exercised. If someone comes along and kills a few people in your family, feel free to come back here and argue your point. Until then, copying and pasting information from .org sites don't make for a good standpoint.

Looks like all those college students who were just so happy to vote him in are getting what they deserve. Give them 500 hours of community service. They all want "change" but they don't want to help.
