My first laptop got stolen and I only had it for less than 2 days! That scumbag thief ruined my christmas. I hope the person who stole it get struck by lightning multiple times. I paid for the same laptop twice but to only own just one. :(

man if u r being smart, u wouldnt put the word "jackass" at all in ur gamertag. since it already gave u problems why deal with it again?

i know this is a free world. u get to choose watever name you want. but do you really have to argue over the phone spend time over the phone just because of the word "jackass"? not worth it if u ask me.

I haven't called Xbox support since they forced me to change my first gamertag. I won't be calling them anymore about this issue. If they decide to keep banning my tag then I'll just make a new one. It literally takes like 30 seconds to change it and I have endless ideas for gamertags with the word jackass. I kinda findthis entertaining. I could care less if they banned me for lifetime. That means I'll be saving money instead of paying for membership fee, Live arcade games, movie and tv show downloads. In my opinion, it's smart for them to keep me as a member but what do I know?

Lol, thats pretty funny. If Microsoft don't want you to use 'Jackass' then they shouldn't let you choose a name with it in! Its not even particularly offensive, there's a show called Jackass on the TV, they don't censor that, nor do they censor the front of the DVDs of it in shops, its even allowed on Gamespot, where you aren't allowed a 3 letter word, that is British slang for a cigarette!zoe256

Thefunny thing is that Xbox support told me the reason thatmy first gamertag "UglyJackass"was banned because of their filter system considers the word jackass offensive. Well, I told them if the word is banned why am I able to use it in a name and the system even suggest tags with the word jackass. An Xbox supervisor told me I will able allowed to create it for offline gaming but it will not be able to sign on Xbox Live. He was wrong because I can clearly play games online with no problem.

I was playing some Call of Duty 4 online when all of a sudden I got booted in a middle of a game. A familiar message came up saying that my gamertag is no longer allowed. Here's my third new Xbox Live gamertag! I expect this one to be banned soon. I went from having "UglyJackass" to "YouUglyJackass" and now "YouDirtyJackass."

Here's my take:

I'm sure that 5 years ago when little Timmy here was setting up his Xbox Live account, he got to the point where he would get to choose his Gamertag. He probably thought to himself, "Self, don't let me down. Think of a really cool and really funny Gamertag so that everyone will remember me."

Then, something sparked in Timmy's brain and said, "Hey! Wouldn't it be funny if we used the name UglyJackass?"

The smart half of Timmy's brain was all like, "No, I probably shouldn't push my luck and use a somewhat naughty word in my Gamertag. What if I were to offend someone and get in trouble?"

Then the evil and unreasonable side of Timmy's brain LOLed and said, "Bah, who the crap is going to be offended by the word 'Ugly'?"

Smart: "No, silly goose. Not "Ugly"... "Jackass".

Evil: "... Oh. Well let's just try it."

Smart: "Alright fine, but I'm telling you, there's no way it's going to work. We're going to get in trouble."

Evil: "Hey, look at that! It worked!"

Fast forward to present day, and here we are. The smart half of your brain was right, but the stupid attention-whoring part of your brain won the argument 5 years ago and got the Gamertag through. And now the stupid part of your brain is trying to claim innocence of any wrongdoing because it's been your Gamertag for 5 years, and instead of saying "Alright, I can understand why SOME peoplemight be offended by this Gamertag", you're trying to play the role of the victim and "show Microsoft that their system is flawed."

One would think that the logical and mature thing to do would be to just grow up, count your losses, and change your Gamertag to something that is sure not to draw negative attention to yourself. But then again, common sense doesn't pay the rent and sure as hell doesn't grown on trees.

I appreciate you spending the time typing up an imaginative and funny story but that's not the reason I made my gamertag. I created it because there's a website that has the same name.

Well have fun when they make you pay to change your gamertag since you wasted the free one.MyndFlyte

When MS decides to charge me for a force name change, that'll be the time for me to cancel my membership. :)

[QUOTE="mfp16"]what are you 6? grow up and change it and move on, you sound like a whining baby.mfp16

He payed for his GT, for five years, he have the right to complain if he wants to.

No actually he doesn't... anyone who puts a profanity into their gamertag and then whines because it gets banned needs a lobatomy.

I'm a paying customer so I have the right to complain and I already changed my gamertag to"YouUglyJackass." If the word jackass is a profanity, why is not Microsoft filtering out the word? If my new tag gets banned, I have many ideas for a gamertag with the word jackass. Until MS starts filtering out the word jackass, I will not stop making gamertags with the word jackass in it.

I know, Sue Microsoft for the pain and suffering this ban of your usertag has caused you.

in your statement of claim you want it ordered that the word jackass be allowed to be used in Xbox Live as well as damages.

ask for compensatory damages of how much the phone calls and your time is worth.

ask for punititive damages for 100 000$ for stress, pain, suffering, depression you now suffer from not being able to use your usertag, etc

ask for costs.

rexxpro

That's taking it too far. I just want them to fix the way their system works and stop misinforming me about how my tag was banned from Xbox Live on the first place. If the word "jackass" is so offensive why would the system let me create "YouUglyJackass" after they banned my last tag for the word jackass. Why is the word jackass not being filtered out? If they can program a software to take money out my bank account every year for membership fees, they should be able to easily program a gamertag filter system.

dude just take it like a man seriosly how old are you? They're saying that its offensive why cant you just chagnge it for FREE if you had to pay then i would be pissed. danzoid_101

I changed my gamertag to "YouUglyJackass." This gamertag is offensive compared to my original gamertag "UglyJackass." I'm posting this to show Microsoft's gamertag system is badly flawed. If they claim that they banned my original gamertag because the word "jackass" is offensive, why would it let me create a newname with the word "jackass" in it? Their system even suggested me a couple of names with the word jackass. I'll be expecting my new tag name to get banned since it worst and Microsoft will be hearing from me again.
