It's gonna happen. You have the Union of South American Nations, European Union, African Union, soon will be North American Union before they get Asia to become part of this Union. Once they have all in place, they will offer a unification of all the Union into one, and hence will get our one world govt, one world leader, one world currency etc, all in the same of "security".

...Think about it. It'd probably be the best dang thing to ever happen since sliced bread. Why would you NOT want the most successful country in the world today (and probably only one after we all get in space and stuff :D) to just be something of a big advisor. Kind of like how states are to countries, Mexico, Canada, etc. would be 'states' of the United States.

That would probably be the road to world peace imo. Just think about it.
