I jsut don't get it. Anybody remember that 2nd disc that came with a Special Edition of Wind Waker? They ported Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask to Gamecube perfectly.

And if I look at Dolphin emulator where people are able to force Gamecube games to render natively in 720p and 1080p even above that, there is really no excuse for Nintendo who has the code, to provide the very same thing.

And NO, this is not upscaled resolution. In Dolphin you can force the game to render in 1080p natively. It looks incredible. It runs at a steady 30fps with a Radeon HD 4870 and up. Last time I checked, Wii U will have a GPU that is at least as powerful as this one.

Trust, me, I have it on Dolphin, the effects scale up perfectly. Because the game is in cel shading, textures also look totally fine.

Agreed. That's what I loved about Clocktown in Majora's Mask. But I've gotta say, that was also present in Wind Waker. You would meet different people or the same people doing different things during the day and at night.

But what I really loved about Wind Waker was the freedom. The ocean with its island populations, there was just this feeling of freedom while the other Zeldas have paths and caves that lead you to a certain area.

I've gotta say, from a quality stand point, it's not as polished looking as the original 3DS or the DSi XL

But oh well, it's probably to keep the cost down so I'll take it. :D

Lol.

Next gen?

o.o

Dude,it doesn't have next gen graphics!

GreekGameManiac

It could definitely run a game like Watch Dogs all maxed out so what are you talking about? That's next-gen enough.

Honestly, if every Wii game looked like Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube, people would probably have accepted Wii's limited specs.

I think the first next-gen graphics game will be from Retro studios because it has been very quiet aroudn that studio and even Reggie was very excited to reveal it but he couldn't. It is probably going to blow our minds.

If you look at Dolphin emulator, there seems to be a way to force Gamecube games to render in 720p and even 1080p. So I'm really hoping to see some GC titles in HD, especially Wind Waker.

Because effects (e.g. waves) scale beautifully.

But yeah, besides HD resolution and sharper buttons/text/menus, I would prefer if they leave the graphics the way they are. That's the point of Virtual Console.

Yeah GC games are about 1.5+ GB but an external HDD or SDD would solve this. In fact, an external SDD would probably load games 10x faster than the GC equivalent + Wii U has a better CPU, more RAM and a better GPU.

I was thinking about this topic when I watched Dolphin emulator videos and they say a AMD Radeon HD 4870 (R770) could easily emulate all Gamecube titles. Isn't that the equivalent of the rumored Wii U GPU? So it should be possible to run GC games and I think Nintendo will probably do that.

I think one of the reasons why Nitnendo didn't show off their new onlien service is because they are still working hard on it. If it will rival XBL and PSN I would be impressed. Not that it would make me buy a Wii U tho.

Is there any possiblity that we might see a new Metroid? If it had graphics like Crysis, Beyond: Two Souls or The Last of Us, that would be mad impressing.

No doubt. I disagree with people who say that Pikmin does not need an online multiplayer. I could imagine many fun ways to play Pikmin online. It would probably be the most popular RTS on console.

C'mon we are talking about EA. It will probably be something like Madden Wii U Nfl with players who look like Miis.
