Like I said earlier, the MW2 comparison was not done properly, which I feel limits the credibility of any of these comparison shots. Textures are not a major difference between the two versions at all;I have seen both versions extensively and the texture resolutions are identical. Most of these shots were just taken before the PS3 finished loading the textures (I've noticed that my PS3 version takes a few seconds longer to load them fully than on roommate's 360 version). That being said, there are a few actual differences between the two versions that GS for some reason failed to mention. From watching my roommate play MW2 on his 360, I've noticed much more liberal and consistent use of bloom lighting (on my ps3, sometimes the blooms don't appear at all, and other times they appear on a gunstock or watch or something only to disappear a few seconds later). Also, although both versions run smoothly enough, his 360 version definitely has a steadier framerate, which is very noticeable during scenes involving a lot of particles such as smoke effects. Still, both versions look and play great overall, so 360 and PS3 owners alike should be happy. My issue is the following: If Gamespot claims that the differences between the consoles are so negligible nowadays, then why do they even bother doing these comparisons segments anymore, especially when they don't even do them correctly? It's as though they want to tick people off for kicks.

I hate to say it, but the MW2 comparison was not done properly. I am staring at my PS3 version right now during the scene in the last picture, and my gunstock's textures are just like the ones found on the 360 shot, as are the textures on the bricks to the right. Textures are not a major difference between the two versions at all; this shot was just taken before the ps3 finished loading the textures right (I've noticed the Ps3 version takes a few seconds longer to load them fully than on my friend's 360 version). That being said, there are much more noticeable differences between the two versions than the ones mentioned by GS. From watching my roommate play MW2 on his 360, I've noticed much more liberal and consistent use of bloom lighting (on my ps3, sometimes the blooms don't appear at all, and other times they appear on a gunstock or watch or something only to disappear a few seconds later). Still, both versions look and play great overall, so 360 and PS3 owners alike should be happy. I just thought I should tell it like it is.
