Hi there,

Right now, I do not have internet connection at my new apartment. Will be awhile before I do. I'm picking up a 40gig PS3 within days, and I was wondering if this will pose a problem.

I know that you can download many firmware updates to enhance your PS3, but that is not my concern right now. I want to make sure that I will be able to still play any game (like MGS4 and GTAIV) straight out of the box. Some games have updates on them (like Ratchet Tools of Destruction).

I also have a 360, and Ive never had it online, and Ive been able to still play ANY game I wanted, and If I was missing an update some games would have them. Does the PS3 have a similar set up?

Thanks for your help in advance.

TFAns.

Is this due to any firmware updates? I will be keeping my PS3 offline.

Hi there,

I will be picking up a 40gig PS3 this weekend, but for the last week ive been on the playstation forums and there has been alot of talk of GTAIV bricking and freezing PS3's. Is this true, or just an exageration? But on the topic of defects, what is the defect rate of PS3's?

I ask because I am on my 2nd 360, and I dont want to go through the same hell with the PS3.

Thanks in advance.

Now that Im finished Crisis Core (awesome game btw) i want to play another FF game. It's a toss up between Rings of Fate and FF Tactics on PSP. Can someone help me cuz I dont know which one. I want something fun and epic, but Im not a fan of strategy games (Jeanne D'arc Im looking at you), but I will tolerate one if the story and graphics rock. Rings of Fate looks more like a Zelda title (which is great) but how is the story?

Advice?

In the one month that I have had my PSP I have bought 11 games. I was juggling 3 at one time (Silent Hill Origins, MGS:PO, and Metal Gear Acid), but I found that I was not being pulled into their respective stories, because my attention was divided between the three. So I decided to just focus on one (MGS:PO) at a time. I cant even consider console games right now because I'm so in love with my PSP. Sorry 360.

Buy a PSP if you want portable MGS game. MGS: Portable Ops is an awesome game. And the Ac!d games are addictive. But I doubt you'll see MGS 1 ported to the DS, at least for now. Konami is too busy porting MGS4 to the 360 to focus on the DS :-P

u should really do research on the games u wanna purchase before u actually buy them.newuser07

Oh, I know. Normally I check online at amazon.com. metacritic and GS before I buy a game. But it was an impluse buy on my part. Luckily I handt opened the packaging and I was able to get a full refund.

Thanks for all the responses. I guess that turn-based RPG's are a dead genre., relegated to remakes. Nowadays, it's all about the strategy RPG's. I suppose I should try those out.
