@buccomatic

It is not practical to hook a rig on to my 42" LED HDTV, neither can I play Nintendo games on a rig. Best not to compare a console to a rig :)

so the 350 one will be a black one with HD cables and some extra memory, sound like the one to get. if the launch games were better I would buy it straight away but I will wait, ZombieU and Pikmin 3 are the ones sticking out. How about a Wave Race sequel :D

True, but I am glad that graphically the WiiU is a great improvement on the Wii. Back in the day when I saw the Wii there was zero improvement in comparison to the Gamecube. I was appalled, never gave it a second glance since. Thank god the WiiU is more powerfull than the current gen, they could not have afforded to go below them. And yes the WiiU will be surpassed by the 720 and PS4 but I don't think it will be a massive leap + Nintendo has other strenghts, new controller, IP greatness, ZombieU :)

I don't see how developers can improve AC3 or Batman AC on the Wii U in this early stage of the console. I remeber games like Gun on the Xbox360 not being a great improvement on GC or PS2 version. I think we have to give it at least a little bit of time. Zombii U characters don't look amazing but the light/shadow effects are great. I would love to see how Pikmin 3 look in full HD. But true at this point it doesn't look like blowing the current gen away but it will.

I think it plays better than it looks, I did like the low setting sun in the players face at 01:02, very atmospheric although I think most of the game will look under avarage

The Wii U will be less of a casual console than the Wii, they can't pull that crap again or they will lose the hardcore forever. The Wii U is more of an in between system, they want to keep some of the casuals and at the same time warm up to the hardcore fans. But they will lose customers either way. The Wii U is better than the PS3 and Xbox360 and by the time the PS4 and Xbox720 are released developers on the Wii U will have games that look equally impressive or close to it. They will be able to compete for 3 to 4 years after the release of the PS4 and Xbox720. After that the games developed for the PS4 and Xbox720 will be too strong for the Wii U, that is when Nintendo has to send a last barrage of IP greatness as 3rd party support will falter. They can do that for another 2 years and then it is time for a new console in a new era of technology. I give this console a lifespan of six years, they better keep there heads above the water. Is it worth buying, I would say yes. Hook that system up to your HD bigscreen, give it a place next to your PS4 or Xbox720 and mix up the spice in you gaming library.
