Here it is: https://soundcloud.com/gigglepoo/sets/the-crockpot

It's a lot like The Hotspot back in the day when Brendan hosted it. Brendan plugs pinball simulators. Tom insults the French. It even has the old theme music. If you have been missing The Hotspot, like I have, you will like it.

The first episode is about their games of the year for 2014, and other distinguished games from that year.

The second episode is about AGDQ, glitches in games, hype in the games industry and their most anticipated games of 2015.

On the Nav bar there are two a's, one on a dark background and the other on a light background. Clicking the dark a will switch the site to a much more darker skin while the white one switches it to a brighter one. You probably accidentally switched to the light background.siberian142

Thank you!

My eyes, my eyes. This infernal brightness.

This site used to be all dark. Now it's bright like the naked sun. What has happened? Why the change? If I'd wanted to retinas burned out, I would have gone to IGN.

Your head. Use your head, that is the best protection you get. Don't download stuff from the internet unless it comes from trustworth websites, or have been recommended by trustworthy sources. Always have your computer ready for if you should get virus. Have your important stuff on other partitions, than the one with Windows on.

I haven't used antivirus programs for years. And I have got no more viruses than when used antivirus software. All that I have got is a lot less annoying pop-ups asking me to update this or scan that. I would much rather spend an afternoon every year formating, installing windows and setting up my stuff again, than I want annoying scans and pop-ups everytime I sit down to use my computer. Actually, I had to do that with antivirus programs too, because they never got any of the really bad stuff anyways. They just got a lot of false positives and small stuff I wouldn't notice anyways. Whenever something really bad hit, they couldn't do anything about it.

[QUOTE="telefanatic"]

Yeah i got a crossfire board, i guess ill just keep the card since crossfire will probably eat up my electric bill.

mfp16

...wait... what? There would be no discernible difference in your electric bill by running two video cards instead of one, lol

Yea, AMD says it uses like 65 watts. That's like one lightbulb's worth of electricity.

To your question, I would probably go with the single GPU, cause while you diffinately would get better scores in 3dmark with the crossfire setup, crossfire still is, as far as I can see in the tests, kinda hit and miss in games, how much of the power there is gonna be used.

LOL, how could nvidia "tinker" with the drivers to give false tests? The tests are normally just running through a certain part of a game.

Daytona_178

Well, his argument there was that nVidia know what certain part of a game which are being used for testing, and they then they optimize drivers for only that part of the game, but leave the rest of the game crappy.

Hi. I just finished a major discussion with my brother, without coming to a clear conclussion, on GPUs and testing them.

My claim was that nVidia'sGTX 295, although expensive, is the best overall GPU on the market, because it comes up best in most test.

He thought that, while I was right in that the GTX 295 does do better in tests, that there is a broad consensus in the gaming comunity, that ATI's 4870x2 is better when actually playing the games, and that the only reason nVidia repeatedly comes up best in test, is because they some how tinker with the drivers to make their gpus appear better in tests only.

I don't know, I have not been able to find anyone that supports his claim, and I even think it is pretty unrealistic that it should be somehow possible to get a GPU to do better in a test in a game, but then suddenly be worse when going back to play the game. Can anyone help me out here?

We are now well out of the holiday season bombardment of games. I bet that Gamespot's review team is pretty bored right now. How about they started reviewing some iPhone/iPod Touch games? There a plenty of them and there are coming new all the time. Many of them are as good or better than many of the games coming out for the DS.

PS3 being a powerfull machine, still can't compare to the capabilities of a PC that seems to have limitless upgrades. PC's will always push pass what consoles are capable of. Heck the games start out being made on a PC with software, then is coded specifically for each console of its own.gamer082009
Yes, but the difference is that then you are going to make a PC game ready get shipped, you have to make sure it works on all the of the types motherboards and gpu's capable of playing. In most cases you just can't do that without some bugs slipping through the cracks, to the constant annoyance for PC gamers. For the consoles you have to optimize for one type gpu and motherboard only. That's why you don't get bugs like that there.

I would have to say PS3 (or Xbox 360 for that matter)

You have to pay a little more for the games, and they won't have good graphics. But what you do get is a lot more games for the consoles, and then you don't have to worry about all the bugs you get in PC games. With a console you get a for 300 or 400$(If you already got the HD tv), you get a machine which you can enjoy all the latest with for the next 3-5years. In that time you would probably have to replace your PC once to be able to keep up with latest games, and they will both probably cost twice as much.

It is a shame PC gaming has come to this, but it is really only for the strategy games and the MMO's you should buy a gaming PC, if you wanted one.
