@rokmek @TheDoorMouse @ArcherRO I'm not defending violent games dude. In fact I don't play M rated titles personally. But this guy's actions should be weighed on their own merits, not in comparison to something else. When you tack it on to violence in media, you lessen the severity of his actions. Save the violence talk for a violence thread. We're talking about somebody that gets his rocks off to children.
@ArcherRO @TheDoorMouse How does it being loli make it any better? Look at his intent, not the media. HE STILL FINDS CHILDREN SEXUALLY ATTRACTIVE! He's looking at a comic, but he's thinking of all the things he'd love to do to that illustrated 13 year old girl. He still has a sexual affinity for kids.
Besides that, the basic concept of torrenting is sharing. A game developer would know this. He clearly didn't care who he distributed it too. And knowingly allowing something to happen that you could stop, can be tant amount to taking the action yourself.
@ArcherRO @TheDoorMouse Here's where he crossed the line dude. Let's say he was looking at a nude 17 year old girl. And some may say, well she was almost 18!
But see it wasn't enough for him to just view it. He then had to distribute it. It's like, who's worse, a drug abuser or a drug dealer? An abuser is bad enough, but a dealer has taken it upon himself to drag others in as well.
This dude is not only saying he personally has no regard for children, but that others should disregard them as well. This dude felt entirely justified and unapologetic, because he took it to the next level.
Scum isn't the right word for him. It's "wicked". He's a wicked individual. A jury doesn't decide who's evil and who isn't. He made that perfectly clear without their help.
Yup yup. That is indeed proper anti humor Fail_Troll.
And yeah Chaotic, you're right, the delivery is everything. Anti jokes are traditionally pretty abstract in nature so the right tone could make it register as a joke.
(Whether anyone would laugh at it is another story though.)
Yeah man, what you said was an anti joke. But his... not so much. See an anti joke has a very deliberate lack of a punch line. Which is still different from conversational dialogue. He simply asked a question and then answered it. Here's what he did:
Why am I drinking Iced Tea? I'll admit that I am partial to it.
An anti joke would be:
Why am I drinking Iced tea? Why aren't you?
The joke in an anti joke is the abrupt lack of climax. His needed to either be more abrupt (like mine), or more unexpected (like yours).
@dragonps It's not the jury's job to ensure he suffers no consequences from his actions. It's their job to decide whether the law will punish him, or not.
That business is not affiliated with the law in any way. They don't have to wait for a jury ruling before executing a punishment that they see fit.
Simply put, even if a jury found him innocent, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world would.
@ArcherRO @Spitz6860 @GirlyPowah Ok we get it, you believe very strongly in innocent until proven guilty.
But let me hit you with the info we do know: The police watched this guy from april till now. They found child pornography on his computer. They found just cause for him to be arrested. This much we know.
In pretty much everyone's eyes, this dude is scum. And he's now ruined his life. Even if he doesn't go to jail, his name is now mud. This much is also certain.
And finally, your efforts have doing nothing to change the fact that he's now hated. You've had no effect on his case and your opinions have not effected one single person on here. He is now hated. In fact the hate is growing. That much is also true.
You seem like a very logical person. Enjoy the facts.
