One question: if Michael Ironside was removed because of "motion capture limitations," then why can you not even see Sam's mouth during most of the dialogue? If they weren't going to even show his mouth, they could've used Ironside and no one would've ever noticed any motion capture anomalies. The new voice actor has a good voice, but he isn't Sam Fisher.
@Divisionbell But who didn't see this coming the second it was announced EA bought PopCap? My first thought was a micro-transaction infested sequel to PvZ. So predictable, EA.
@Get_Shorty @TheAgingGamer I should've clarified, I bought the iOS version. The PC game was $19.99 in store I think. But if you bought the plants they removed from the game and the extra seed slot they removed from the game you'll spend $23.93, not including the other optional upgrades. And the new features in the game cost so many coins they are clearly trying to get you to spend money on more coins..but at least the "best deal" is only $99!! What a bargain!
Free-to-play but just to get the same plants that were in the original game you have to pay at least $16.95. I paid $4.99 for the original game with all of the plants included. How can you defend free-to-play's business model when it clearly costs more to play than just purchasing the game outright? It would be one thing if buying the extra plants made it end up costing the same as the original, but it's at least 300% more expensive JUST FOR THE EFFING PLANTS! When you consider the other ways the game is more limited than the original without paying for the microtransactions, it becomes clear that the game is a money-grab pure and simple. I won't make any in-app purchases and will just play with whatever comes free. Hopefully enough people will do the same to send them a message.
That's why movies based on game properties should just use the same settings and characters but be their own entity. It shouldn't be like a game in movie form..that's why they're making a movie out of it in the first place. Give the idea to someone experienced in writing film scripts and give them creative license, have an experienced film director take charge of the directing, and keep people in the gaming industry out of it as much as possible.
Look at the flip side of it. Hollywood producers who get into game development release some of the worst shite out there..there needs to be a division if it's going to be any good.
If they release a 3rd L4D before HL2:E3 or HL3 I'm going to be justifiably pissed. Three Left 4 Dead games since the last Half Life game are you fuckin' kidding me?
