4-Legged-Shark* Gamespot and every other site out there are gonna have reporters that are both negatively and positively biased towards the Vita, just like games. Since it was his job to report how he felt about the system, was he supposed to just lie to make you feel better? Sure I'm certain I'll disagree with him too.
Sure the games are expensive. Just like every other console out there. The difference between IOS games and these games is that one of the most successful games for the IOS is one where you slash your finger across the screen in a repeating story. I have nothing against Infinity Blade or other IOS games, but the reason they're priced so lowly is because they are shallow games. Maybe some of the concepts are ingenious, but the content is lacking. First person shooters are to be avoided in my opinion. Another thing that is different between IOS and the Vita. The Vita seems to have usable controls for games like Call of Duty. When I tried playing Battlefield BF2 on the iPhone, I wondered why they would try to do something so ridiculous. The PS Vita provides easy controls. It is a device that transfers over a console feeling the way IOS systems can't. Of course the Vita isn't perfect. However I have yet to see a perfect piece of technology yet. And if software is the problem, there's always a chance for a updates. Don't get worked up.
So what you want to smack your head against a brick wall now? Don't be premature in your analysis. Wait for the developers to see the mistake with their interface and they'll most likely update it to be more friendly. In the long run doesn't it really matter about how the games play? He already stated great things about this system in the second paragraph. The main reason for owning a gaming system like the ps Vita is to play games. And as far as it sounds, this is not a relic. He even said, "The 5-inch OLED screen is something to behold, displaying visuals that would have been unthinkable on a handheld just a few short years ago." Sounds pretty up to date. Wow... He just complained about a 3 to 4 second delay on start up. I guess that's what we get for living in an instant gratification society.
