The $99 iPhone 3G from AT&T is the greatest smartphone deal out there. All other smartphones require a contract and data plan but none of them are that cheap. Plus the thing is producing graphics better than the DS. Lots of good stuff for under $10 there. Not really a gaming system though.

I have used ASRock before. Back in the 478 days. Their stuff is really nice and cheap.

I'm trying to geta second computer up and running for some MMO play and light gaming. Current setup is...

P4 HT 3.0GHz

2GB DDR2 667

Radeon 3850 512MB

Intel 925X motherboard

I suppose the bottleneck is the CPU at the moment. That 32-bit single core is probably slowing things down. I don't have a lot of money to spend and will probably have to do this in phases. I'm hearing good stories about unlocking the second core ona Sempron 140. It's 2.7GHz, 1MB cache and available for $36 on Newegg. A suitable 780G motherboard with AOC/ACC is about $70. My issue is that if I cannot unlock the second core will this 64-bit Sempron OC'd to about 3.2GHz provide any performance gain over the P4 3.0GHz? My other option is to find a nice 775 board and use my P4 until I can afford something newer.

Alright so I went with the 3850. It was $38 after a 10% discount.

I figured the 1GB version was not necessary.

Looking to upgrade a secondary computer. Other choices are 4650 or 9500GT. Looking to spend less than $50.
