@Custaf1ux @TechGoblin They better watch themselves, if not major lawsuits. This tech is powerful and brand new. It should be handled with care with the full support of everything ethical. ;-)

@rice2555 @Custaf1ux @TechGoblin MS is not forcing me to buy anything. If I decide on the Xbox One, it's with the understanding that a Kinect will come with it. The alternative is ps4

"Its not something that will enhance the GAMING experience" ?

I don't believe you because you're not a developer. I haven't heard any of them say that. In fact one got all excited about the Kinect and said,"now we can make zombies that can hear you"

in regards to features, again, I don't hear developers complaining at all about the power of the ONE. Most came forward to say that it is comparable in power to ps4. In fact there is an article on nowgamerdotcom interviewing Dominic Guay, who said some very interesting things about their game Watchdog, and how the city in the game is more dynamic on the Xbox One as oppose to the ps4 ver. Something to do with the cloud. Devs also love the idea that everyone who invest in the One will have a Kinect so now they don't have to worry about fragmentation when developing games.

What you're talking about is based on opinion. I say chose what appeals to you and be happy with your choice. that's not hard to do.

Truth is, I'm not into games like I use to, but I'll choose an advance camera interface over bigger hdd anyday. That's what the cloud is for.

I'll prefer cloud computing over a fixed GPU anyday. My preference.

In the end, both systems ROCK!

@ali_manslayer @TechGoblin When the camera was 1st invented, some pple were fearful of it because they believed that it can steal their soul. *Shrugs*

Like the kinect2 today, There was the same paranoia towards the webcam back in the days, & I got to admit for good reason, because there were/are bad people out there who will try to exploit the tech we love for malicious reasons. It's not going to convince you to stop using your smartphone or laptop though right?

Kinect is obviously advance tech & is def worth more than a $100.00. Technology advances, that's how it is. You're going to see Kinect like devices more and more over time. At least that's my 2cents.

Don't believe the hype. My take on Sony’s stance was that it was a brilliant way to keep Blu-Ray relevant. I don’t think DRM was NO LONGER the target at the end of the day. Day one game digital downloads became the real threat after MS E3. If that starts off strong, their Blu-Ray business will be dead in a few years. Blu-ray is still a new consumer technology. It’s Only 7 years old. They’ve invested way too much in it to loose it over night. Even though Sony announced that they will have a digital service where you’ll be able to download game purchases, they weren’t exactly clear on when the service will be available. They just said we’ll have it 2014. when exactly in 2014? We don’t know. For all we know it can happen next summer if that’s the case. That viral video of them handing that physical game to another person, says it all. My question was then, "what if my friends live in different states?" How will I lend them games? I imagined that if MS was dependent on Blu-Ray, Sony would had implemented DRM. Why, because piracy is an issue & they know it. With the way the current systems are built & that includes the PS4, modding them will be easy. Pirated games will still flourish. Sony’s Blu-Ray business, with all their partnerships makes them billions a year. Why should they care if game developers loose a few millions. Remember also, it was the PS3 that won them the HD format war. PS4 I think was meant to carry on that tradition. They were hoping that Blu-ray would age well like how Cds and DVd’s did. The digital age threatens that however. Just my thoughts on it.

And by the way, here's the article about that patent Sony filed for to block used games. it shows the diagram and everything.

Great article! The fact is, the current techs we are enjoying now like smartphones are service oriented and are constantly evolving. it's good to know how your tech work behind the scenes. In regards to the Kinect, again I don't understand why people fear it. Every modern laptop have a camera embedded into it, and we spend significant amount of time using our laptops while online. Who buys a laptop to use it offline? I don't see the difference *shrugs*.

@nav525 @TechGoblin Im not afraid to admit. Speed reading got the best of me, and because of that, I jumped to conclusions in regards to YOUR post. Sorry dude!

They did say it but the example they gave was for linking and match making, then they admitted that there are limitations to what processes can be offloaded to a remote computer, due to latency and bandwidth. This must be based on their particular infrastructure. Linking and match making, we can do that now with current gen.

@UofODucks8 @TechGoblin Even though they didn't say that it will be available on day one, it's coming and that's a good thing.

And in the end, they admit Sony's Jim Ryan told IGN that Blu-ray discs will still be the PlayStation 4's dominant delivery mechanism for games, despite a wider move towards a more connected console.

They still need to implement a system where I don't suffer through constant updates. That is so last gen & they need to come up with a better way to share games. My best friends live in different states. I can't exactly pass them a game to borrow.

@Kristan1711 @TechGoblin @megaspiderweb09 "Only because internet speeds aren't capable of streaming that much data yet"

That's a myth and has been proven wrong by game developers like Respawn intertainment. The reason why 'Titanfall" was developed for the Xbox One and NOT for the PS4 has to do with the benefits that come from cloud computing. Initially the game was to be multiplatform, but the advantages of cloud computing was the defining factor as to why they decided on the Xbox One. Find and read their interview in full.

If you don't have access to the internet, PS4 is for you. It's great for what it does.
